No one patches an old cloak with a piece of unshrunken cloth, for its fullness pulls away from the cloak and the tear gets worse.
People do not put new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined. Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.”

Prayers
Our Dearest Jesus, thank You for teaching us that fasting should be without show-off, not wearing sack clothes or being gloomy to show that we are suffering.
The new wineskins are our hearts that have accepted the new ways that You want us to possess. The new wine is the Good News. Help and guide us to undergo a complete change in our way of life so that we can fulfill our mission of proclaiming Your Gospel to the whole world. Amen.

25 So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But Thomas said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nail marks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Prayer
Dearest Lord Jesus, forgive us for the times that we doubt You, just like the apostle Thomas. We doubt You when we are in trouble and face challenges. We are impatient waiting for Your answers to our prayers. This shows lack of faith despite the many events in our lives wherein You stepped in and rescued us from hardships. We beg You, Lord, give us the grace to strengthen our faith. You alone know what is best for all of us and Your love is ever abounding in our lives. Always make us realize our mistakes and renew our lives to be better apostles in Your vineyard. Amen. 🙏

25 They came and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
26 He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was great calm.

Prayer
O Lord Jesus, we Your children ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. We are weak and easily fall into temptation. We lack faith especially when we encounter trials and challenges. Instead of putting our faith and trust in You, we resort to worries and fear. You have shown us your utmost love by showering us with blessing upon blessing. Help us see that You are always here with us, carrying us through our darkest hours. We beg You, never abandon us, never forsake, us for we are nothing without You. Strengthen our faith and hope in You. Amen. 🙏

Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Trinity, thank You for reminding us the purpose why You have created us, and that is to know, love, and serve You. You remind us that in the process of serving You and proclaiming Your Word to others, we will definitely encounter challenges including rejections. We ask for Your grace to endure all trials and serve You with courage. We love, serve and glorify You above all things. Give us the strength to resist all forms of temptation from the evil one in order to fulfill Your will in our lives. Jesus, we love you. Amen. 🙏

17 Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
18 And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock, I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.

Prayer
Dearest Jesus, we thank You for giving us Peter for us to follow and imitate. Despite his faults and shortcomings, he was humble enough to admit them and ask forgiveness to You. He was appointed by God the Father himself to be the foundation of our Holy Church. O Lord Jesus, we ask that we may practice humility at all times and be like Peter. Allow us to serve You all our lives by proclaiming Your Word. Help us defend Your church the best way we can. Amen. 🙏

Prayer
O Dearest Jesus, today we honor our Blessed Mother, her Immaculate Heart just as we honored Your Sacred Heart yesterday. Thank You for reminding us what a great Mother she was to you and now to us. She has the perfect love. It is “Immaculate” because it is spotless and perfect in love. Help us be reminded of that kind of love that we can imitate and spread not only to those we love but to everyone we meet. Let our hearts be pure so that we can also give pure love to others. If we fall into sin, we ask for your mercy and compassion, that we may replace it with the kind of love that our Immaculate Mother has for us. Amen. 🙏

Prayer
Dearest Lord Jesus, help us to remain attached to You because You are the True Vine and we are the branches. Teach and guide us always to follow Your will. We would want to be branches who will teach out to others through our good fruits. Holy Spirit, we call upon You to reign in us, that we may say, think, and do things that are only pleasing to You. When we remain in You we will always be assured to produce good fruits and bear witness to Your goodness. Amen. 🙏
