It's called TERAFAB - a joint $16.8 BILLION monster factory by Tesla x SpaceX in Grimes County, Texas.

This isn't just another Gigafactory. This is 100 MILLION sq ft - more than 10x bigger than TSMC's biggest fab. Why?

Because Musk says the world doesn't make enough chips for what's coming.

His goal: 1 TERRAWATT of compute per year. That's more compute than the entire US produces today.

This is not another AI-generated protein image.

On September 23rd, Anthropic let 950 Claude agents loose on a massive DNA database for 21 hours. No human micromanaging. One prompt: "find interesting new reverse transcriptases."

What they did:
Scanned 200,000+ genes
Flagged 3,500 weird systems humans missed
Wrote 20 detailed scientific reports with evidence
One agent stopped and wrote: "This is spectacular: I can see by eye a tandem repeat array... that's a CRISPR-like repeat array?!"
It's called ART — Array-Associated Reverse Transcriptases. A phage enzyme system sitting next to a long bank of repeating DNA, just like CRISPR does. The lab already confirmed that repeat bank is expressed as distinct short RNAs — basically a potential guide-RNA library.

We don't have a new gene editor yet. Function is still unknown. It's a preprint, not peer-reviewed. Even Anthropic says so.

But here's why biologists are losing it:

For 50 years, our biggest biotech breakthroughs came from humans noticing weird patterns in nature — restriction enzymes, Taq polymerase, CRISPR. Claude just proved AI can do the noticing, at a scale no lab can. What takes an expert weeks or months, it did overnight.

MIT's Feng Zhang (CRISPR pioneer) already called it "genuinely intriguing and merits further investigation."

We thought colonizing the Moon and Mars would take 100 years...

But we forgot one variable: AI that is smarter than ALL of us combined.

For 60 years, space travel was limited by ONE thing - human brainpower. One engineer, one calculation, one rocket at a time.

Something 124 light-years away might be breathing.

Scientists pointed NASA's James Webb Space Telescope at a planet called K2-18b — a massive ocean-world candidate, 8.6 times heavier than Earth, sitting in its star's habitable zone.

And they saw something they didn't expect.

A faint chemical fingerprint of dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide.

On Earth, there is only ONE place those molecules come from: living things. Mostly phytoplankton in our oceans.

The signal is at 3-sigma right now. That means it's tantalizing, but not yet confirmed. Independent teams are re-analyzing the same data and debating whether the molecule is really there at all. More Webb observations are scheduled to settle it.

Sounds like a dream, right? A return to single-income households?

Here's why nobody is buying it:

We had this same dream in 1950.
Economists said computers would give us a 15-hour workweek by 2030.
What happened? We work MORE.

Why? Because productivity gains have NEVER been shared equally.

When the tractor came, farmers didn't work 3 days. The farm owner bought 3 more farms.

Your $0.10 AI just learned how to use a computer. And that's a bigger deal than it sounds.

On October 7, Anthropic dropped Claude Haiku 5.5 — their cheapest, fastest small model.

The old Haiku 4.5 scored 0% on Terminal-Bench 4.0 (a brutal command-line coding test where AI has to actually finish real tasks by typing commands).

Haiku 5.5? 39.2%

Same model also went from 15.7% to 72.4% on OSWorld 2.1 — that's clicking, opening apps, browsing, finishing work like a human would. For comparison, OpenAI's budget model GPT-6 Luna scored 48.9% on the same test and 16.4% on Terminal-Bench.

And the price? For normal requests under 100k tokens: $0.10 per million input tokens. A tenth of what old Haiku cost. Same list price as Luna. Anthropic says it's ∼75% cheaper on average to run.

This is the shift no one is talking about loud enough:

We don't just need one genius AI. We need 1,000 cheap, reliable AI workers that can actually do stuff on a computer without costing a fortune.

Haiku 5.5 is the first small model that can. The hard, messy jobs still go to Sonnet and Opus (70%+ on those same tests), but all the boring, repetitive, high-volume work? That's now automated.

The era of the AI employee swarm just started.
