I used to believe that one day, someone would come back and make everything make sense.
Maybe they’d apologize. Maybe they’d finally understand the pain they caused. Maybe I’d get the closure I kept convincing myself I needed.
So I waited.
Until one day, I got tired.
Not angry.
Not bitter.
Just… tired.
Tired of carrying pain they had already walked away from. Tired of waiting for the people who hurt me to become the people who healed me.
That’s when I realized they were never coming.
So I chose myself.
Because healing doesn’t begin when the pain disappears.
It begins the moment you stop waiting for someone else to fix what they broke and decide you’ll no longer carry it with you.
Some wounds don’t close because someone says “I’m sorry.”
They close because one day, you finally choose your own peace over the apology you may never receive.
