Alex Eala is expected to be a seeded entrant for the 2026 Miami Open. Following her recent performance at the Indian Wells Open, where she reached the Round of 16 as the 31st seed, her world ranking is projected to rise into the top 30 (potentially No. 28 or 29).
Because the Miami Open (March 15–29, 2026) features 32 seeds, her current ranking ensures seeded spot. Her exact seed number will be officially confirmed during the Main Draw Ceremony on March 16, 2026.
As a seeded player, she will likely receive a first-round bye, automatically advancing to the second round.
Eala is entering the "Sunshine Swing" in peak form after a breakout 2025 season where she became the first Filipino to reach a WTA 1000 semifinal and break into the top 100. In Miami this year, she will be defending 390 ranking points from her 2025 semifinal finish.
