We Can Change Our Country For The Better
We have to accept that our country is in a mess, because the general welfare of the people is somewhat being ignored like by not providing concrete solutions to spiraling prices which should have been attended to, allegations of smuggling reaching our leader's own family, and others.
The Filipino people should stay hopeful. Because, hope would still allow us to move forward, even when the truth is distorted by some people in power (and their minons) and some vloggers/bloggers. Hope allows us to stand up when they tell us to sit down. And, to speak when they say "be quiet." We cannot do that during the immediate past administration or else, you will either be assassinated by the motorcycle in tandem, be accused with convicted felons as witnesses, be redtagged as communist or supporters, be included in the matrix of drug dealers in your community, etc.
We could say that the opposite of poverty is not wealth. The opposite of poverty is justice. The character of our country is not reflected in how we treat the rich and the priviledged, but how we treat the poor, the disfavored, and the government's constructive critics, or the Filipino people in general.
The government and the politicians, from the beginning, since we got our independence from the colonizers, not only the current one, but especially from the first term of Marcos Sr. till now, have taken more from us, than they have power to give back.
But we can change our country for the better. If we can look at ourselves closely and honestly, we will see that we all need justice from the people who govern us. We all need mercy from them to take care of our general welfare.
Let us demand for strong, transparent, efficient, and effective leadership. Because, the Filipino people deserve it.
