Sinabi ni Solicitor General Darlene Berberabe na hindi na awtomatikong aapela ang gobyerno sa bawat desisyon ng korte na nagtatapos ng isang kasal. Sa halip, rerepasuhin muna ng kanyang opisina kung makatarungan at tama ang desisyon bago kumilos. Ipinapakita nito ang isang mas makatao at may malasakit na pananaw—dahil minsan, ang tunay na hustisya ay hindi pilitin ang dalawang taong manatili sa sirang relasyon, kundi bigyan sila ng pagkakataong makalaya at magsimulang muli.

Ang Divorce Bill ay hindi laban sa Simbahan o sa pananampalataya. Tungkol ito sa kabutihan, dignidad, at pagpapagaling. Mananatiling banal ang kasal, pero hindi dapat isakripisyo ang kapayapaan at respeto sa sarili. Ang pagbitaw sa sakit ay hindi pagsira sa pag-ibig—ito ay pagbibigay sa pag-ibig ng panibagong buhay, sa pagkakataong puno ng katotohanan, kalayaan, at respeto.
