Please help me in my cancer battle so I could live longer for my 3 children.
My name is Stephanie, a 30-year-old doting mother of 3 wonderful kids. My eldest son is 7 years old with Autism, followed by a 3-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy. I used to have a remote work and had a side hustle by selling goods online while tending to my children but I had to stop working because of my serious condition.
I was diagnosed with Vulvar Malignant Melanoma, a rare type of cancer in Asia but potentially the most aggressive form of skin cancer worldwide. It started when my OB-gynecologist noticed a mass near my urethra when I was laboring with my youngest child last June 2022. It was thought to be just hematoma but after a month, the lump had increased in size. The mass was removed through excisional biopsy in Philippine General Hospital last January 2023 and was confirmed to be a malignant tumor. Afterwards, I had 3 cycles of free chemotherapy sessions beginning April until June this year but my oncologist decided to stop the chemo sessions because my body did not respond well to the treatment.
After a PET-CT scan last September 2023, it was found out that my cancer progressed and has now spread through my lungs and most part of my pelvic area or inguinal lymph nodes. Also, my tumor which was removed from the surgery reoccurred after weeks of my first chemotherapy, and has now grown bigger. This produces vaginal discharges and causes extreme pain which makes it difficult for me to do simple things such as walking and basic chores. We were told by my oncologist that I'm in hospice condition and unfortunately, was not allowed to have another form of treatment.
We sought an opinion from a private hospital which gave us an alternative treatment with high hopes of saving my life. I urgently needs to undergo Keytruda immunotherapy treatment which works with the immune system to help fight cancer cells. Each vial/cycle of Keytruda costs Php 153,000 (around 2,740 USD). The doctor's treatment plan for me is to have 18 cycles of Keytruda as soon as possible. This treatment plan combined with doctor's and hospital fees, and other laboratory tests will amount to roughly Php 3,000,000 (around 53,660 USD). I am glad that there is still an alternative treatment and I am hopeful that there is a chance than I can still live longer with my kids. But we sincerely need all the help we can get for us to raise this huge amount of money to start my treatment. Our pooled resources are sadly not enough to cover my medical costs. Our family and friends are all trying their best to raise funds for my treatment so I could still watch my children grow up and take care of them. We will all be forever grateful for your prayers and financial help for me to fight against cancer.
