in Northern Norway
One of my best solo travel experiences. I got here after almost 24 hours of air travel and 3 planes. I was lucky to find a local tour guide on Tromsรธ's official tourism website. It was supposed to be a group tour, yet I was the only one who signed up. The tour guide still showed up, and we drove to the beautiful countryside of Tromsรธ and Tromvik. We passed through several fjords and salmon and trout farms until we got to one of the best viewing sites for the midnight sun that only a true local knows.
Watching the sun get closer to the horizon as the sky gets darker then slowly the sky is painted in endless gold and soft pastel hues. ๐ฅน๐ And as the sun barely touches the horizon, it soon bounces back up to the sky. Itโs like experiencing sunset and sunrise within an hour. The experience is surreal, quiet, and completely unforgettable.
