Basta Davao!
Over 1,000 Indian nationals recently graduated with Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees at the 25th International Medical Doctors Graduation Ceremony of Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF), reinforcing the city’s role as a hub for international medical education.
Davao continues to attract Indian students due to its English-medium instruction, globally aligned curriculum, and strong performance in licensure exams such as FMGE, USMLE, and PLAB. Since 1999, DMSF has produced nearly 12,000 Indian graduates now practicing worldwide.
Amid the growing foreign population, an ordinance has been proposed to establish a one-stop help center for immigrants, offering services such as immigration assistance, healthcare access, legal aid, and guidance on visas, education, housing, and business permits, with multilingual support.
The measure aims to help foreign residents navigate bureaucracy, language barriers, and cultural differences as Davao City continues to attract students, professionals, investors, and retirees.
