Jung Se Hyup Passes Away At Age Of 41, 10 Years After Winning Battle With Leukemia 😭

Jung Se Hyup has tragically passed away at the age of 41.

On October 6, the comedian, who is best known for playing the dog character “Chow Chow” on SBS’s comedy show “People Looking for a Laugh,” unexpectedly passed away.

According to his acquaintances and industry sources, Jung Se Hyup was spending time with a friend when he suddenly experienced chest pain and difficulty breathing. Although he was rushed to a nearby emergency room, he ultimately passed away.

An acquaintance told SBS News, “After arriving at the emergency room, he was talking to the doctor when he suddenly suffered cardiac arrest. Although the medical staff immediately administered CPR and other emergency treatment, he was ultimately unable to recover.”

The news of Jung Se Hyup’s passing is all the more heartbreaking because 10 years ago, in 2015, the comedian was declared cured after a five-year battle with leukemia and undergoing a bone marrow transplant.

In April of last year, Jung Se Hyup returned to the comedy scene after a long hiatus by joining the popular KBS show “Gag Concert.”

Actor Kim Hyeong Mook, who received backlash for his Chinese in "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty," revealed that he only had two weeks to prepare for a role that required him to speak only in Chinese when he has never spoken the language before.

He said, "At first, I thought it was just a cameo. About a month before the shoot began, it was decided that I would deliver all my lines in Chinese. Practically, I had only two weeks to prepare."

He added, "The pressure was immense. I’d never spoken Chinese before. I barely slept some nights. At times, I thought, ‘Should I just not do this?’ But deep down, I knew I wanted to push my limits. At first, I focused on the basics: the script, pronunciation, and foundational skills.

I slept 4–5 hours a day, dedicating 12, sometimes up to 16 hours. I memorized the portions [my mentor] recorded, applying tones carefully, and incorporated what I learned on my own."

Many viewers criticised the Chinese-speaking scenes in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. A post talking about it went viral on Reddit, where people called the delivery of the language unnatural and inaccurate. Many even said that the Chinese-speaking scenes made them want to stop watching the show.

In May 2025, the finale of the SBS survival show B:MY BOYZ aired, introducing the final line-up of a new boy group, YUHZ.

YUHZ official debut date has not been decided, but the members have already attracted attention for a variety of reasons.

Included in the line-up is Moon Jaeil, an 18-year-old who finished third overall in the program.

In a series of messages, Jaeil revealed that his mother is from the Philippines, explicitly stating that he is mixed.

Former Child Actor Shinsaku Shimazaki Passes Away Days Before Birthday, Dɛath Kept Hidden For A Month

He was just 32.

The Japanese entertainment industry was left shocked to its core after it was recently revealed that popular child actor Shinsaku Shimazaki had passed away.

The 32-year-old reportedly diɛd after suffering a brain haɛmorrhage on September 6. His family chose to keep this tragedy private and gave him a quiet funeral. As per NHK, the news was only revealed on October 7, jolting the industry to its core.

Fans and colleagues were left grief-stricken, and what made this tragedy even more heartbreaking was that the actor passed away just four days before his 33rd birthday. His management agency published a statement, mourning the actor and remembering his warm personality.

A graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts, Shinsaku Shimazaki became a well-known child star through his performances in various stage plays. After stepping into acting, he performed with the theater group, Hot Generation, and essentially grew up in the public eye. He was largely considered a promising young talent by both the public and the industry. Fellow Japanese artists have taken to social media to express their grief over his untimely passing, and they have also confirmed that a tribute and a memorial event will be held later in October to honor Shimazaki. 😭

Korean Press Shares “Proof” That Kim Soo Hyun’s “Pɛdophilic” KakaoTalk Messages To Kim Sae Ron Are Fake

An investigation revealed significant discrepancies.

On October 5, 2025 (KST), South Korean news outlet Money Today claimed in an exclusive report that parts of the KakaoTalk messages between actors Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron—made public by the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute and since deemed “pɛdophilic” by netizens—appear to have been fabricated.

Money Today confirmed, based on their investigation, that on April 2, 2018, when Kim Soo Hyun was said to have messaged Kim Sae Ron, the actor was actually still on base in his military unit and not on leave.

In the screenshot of the messages allegedly exchanged on that day, as shared by the late actress’s family via Garo Sero Research Institute, Kim Soo Hyun supposedly tells Kim Sae Ron that he misses her.

[1:48 pm] Kim Soo Hyun: Eh? ㅇㅅㅇ Everyone has so much energy, heh. Sigh, I want to see Saero-Mero soon.

The messages were deemed inappropriate, as Kim Sae Ron was a 17-year-old high school sophomore in 2018. The bereaved family and Garo Sero Research Institute used this screenshot, along with others, to slam Kim Soo Hyun for having been in a relationship with Kim Sae Ron as a minor between 2015 and 2021.
