God is going to give you more than you ask for. Ephesians 3:20 — “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”
These words are a reminder of just how limitless God’s goodness truly is. So often, we bring our prayers to Him with trembling hope — small requests shaped by what we think is possible. We ask for healing, for provision, for direction, for peace. And while those prayers matter deeply, God sees beyond them. He looks into the hidden corners of our hearts, the unspoken desires, the quiet dreams we’re too afraid to voice, and He works in ways that stretch far beyond what we could ever imagine. His plans don’t stop at our expectations; they overflow with grace, abundance, and divine surprise.
Sometimes, it doesn’t feel that way. Sometimes, it seems as though our prayers go unanswered or our hopes fall flat. But what we don’t realize in those moments is that God is not saying “no” — He is often saying, “wait, I have something better.” His timing is perfect, His vision eternal. While we see only the small piece of the puzzle in front of us, He holds the entire picture in His hands. The delays, the detours, the disappointments — they are not signs of rejection, but redirections toward something greater. The “more” that God promises in Ephesians 3:20 is not always about having more things; it’s about experiencing more of Him. More of His peace that surpasses understanding. More of His strength in our weakness. More of His joy even in the midst of sorrow.
When you start to believe that God can do more than you ask for, something changes inside you. You stop praying out of fear and start praying out of faith. You stop limiting what God can do based on what you’ve seen, and start expecting Him to move in ways beyond what makes sense. That’s what real belief looks like — not just hoping that He might, but trusting that He will. When your heart aligns with that truth, even your prayers begin to shift. You start thanking Him in advance for blessings that haven’t yet arrived, because you know He is already working behind the scenes.
There will be seasons when you feel like you’re asking for crumbs, not realizing that God is preparing a feast. He is a God of abundance, not scarcity. The very nature of His love is extravagant — it overflows, it multiplies, it reaches farther than your imagination. Maybe you’ve been praying for one door to open, and God is preparing an entirely new path. Maybe you’ve been asking for a single blessing, and He’s ready to pour out a stream of favor that touches every area of your life. The key is to believe — even when you can’t see it yet. To hold on to faith that He is not done, and that what’s coming will be far greater than what you’ve been waiting for.
Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that the power making all this possible is already at work within us. God doesn’t just work around us — He works through us. Every time you choose faith over fear, hope over despair, patience over frustration, you make room for His power to flow. You become a vessel for the “immeasurably more” that He promised. It’s not about striving or earning; it’s about believing. It’s about letting your heart rest in the truth that the God who created the universe is still writing your story — and He never ends a story in defeat.
So believe it. Believe that what’s ahead is better than what’s behind. Believe that every prayer, every tear, every season of waiting has been preparing you for something greater than you asked for. Believe that God’s goodness will exceed your imagination, that His blessings will arrive pressed down, shaken together, and running over. You may not see how yet, but one day you’ll look back and realize that He gave you not just what you prayed for — but more than you even knew how to hope for.
