I think many OFWs can deeply relate to Sir Geybin. He was completely overwhelmed by the heavy weight of responsibilities and expectations. Tapos bawal ka mapagod kasi ikaw ang breadwinner. Literally burnt out to the point na zero mental health care na, tapos biglang isang araw magigising ka na lang na parang naka-autopilot. Walang direction, walang drive, zero motivation, purely survival mode kasi maraming umaasa sayo. Sobrang lungkot.
To every OFW and breadwinner reading this who is currently in that 'autopilot' mode ~ please remember that you are a human being. Taking care of your mental health isn't selfishβitβs survival. If you completely burn out and collapse, the ship sinks anyway.
Set your boundaries, protect your peace, and remember to save a little bit of your life for yourself.
Say "no" to minor requests so you have the energy to say "yes" to the things that actually matter.
Putting on your own oxygen mask first is the only way youβre going to make it to the finish line. π€
