Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I last posted. Life has been a rollercoaster these past few months and I wanted to take a moment to share what’s been going on.

Entering my 40s has brought a wave of challenges and introspection. I’ve experienced significant loss, losing someone who held a huge part of my heart and life. This has left me feeling up and down, grappling with emotions that sometimes feel overwhelming. It’s been a true midlife crisis, questioning everything and feeling like I’ve lost myself.

But amid the pain and confusion, I’ve started a journey of recovery and self-awareness. Through this process, I've learned to prioritize what truly matters in life. It’s about cherishing the moments with loved ones, finding joy in the little things, and being kind to myself. It's about letting go of what no longer serves me and embracing the people and activities that bring genuine happiness and fulfillment.

Thank you all for your unwavering support and love. Remember to take care of your mental health, cherish your loved ones, and focus on what truly matters. Life is a beautiful journey, and we all deserve to find our own path to happiness and peace.

Take care, everyone.

40 Life Lessons in 40 Years

7. Money is important, but it's not everything.

Money is undoubtedly important. It allows us to meet our basic needs, pursue our dreams, and provide for our loved ones. It offers a sense of security and freedom, opening doors to experiences and opportunities that enrich our lives. I don't dismiss its significance. However, I've realized that the pursuit of money alone won't lead to lasting contentment.

As I approach the milestone of 40, I want to share this powerful realization with you: money alone cannot define our worth, our happiness, or our fulfillment.

Let us remember that our worth is not determined by the digits in our bank accounts, but rather by the love we give and receive, the difference we make, and the memories we create. Let us find fulfillment in the journey, embracing the beauty of life's imperfections and finding gratitude for the abundance that already exists.

Embrace the true essence of life, treasure what truly matters, and let your heart guide you toward a path of genuine joy, love, and fulfillment.

40 Life Lessons in 40 Years

6. Love yourself first before loving others.

In the past, I sought love in all the wrong places, pouring my heart and soul into relationships that left me feeling depleted and unappreciated. I compromised my own needs and desires, hoping to find validation and fulfillment through the love of others. But I reached a turning point.

I realized that true love begins within. It starts with honoring and cherishing ourselves—the beautiful, imperfect beings we are.

Through my journey of self-discovery, I learned that self-love is a profound act of healing and empowerment. It means forgiving ourselves for past mistakes, embracing our flaws, and letting go of self-judgment. It means nourishing our minds, bodies, and spirits with self-care and self-compassion.

As I began to love myself fiercely, something incredible happened. I attracted healthier relationships, where love flowed effortlessly and authentically. By valuing my own worth, I invited others to do the same. It gave me the courage to walk away from toxic relationships.

Let me remind you that your worth does not depend on someone else's love or approval. It resides within you, waiting to be acknowledged and celebrated. Embrace the journey of self-love, you are worthy of every ounce of love and happiness life has to offer.

40 Life Lessons in 40 Years

5. Don't compare yourself to others, focus on your own journey.

Celebrate your own victories, no matter how big or small they may seem. Be proud of the person you are becoming; you are constantly growing, evolving, and learning. Embrace the highs and the lows, the twists and the turns.

And when you see others succeeding or reaching milestones, let it inspire you, not discourage you. Don't let the successes or appearances of others dim your own light. Cheer them on and remember that their journey is different from yours. Focus on your own blessings and achievements. Embrace your own unique path and trust that it will lead you exactly where you need to be.

40 Life Lessons in 40 Years

4. Stop worrying about what everyone else thinks. Stop wasting energy on stuff that isn't your business.

We often find ourselves caught up in a cycle of overthinking, constantly concerned about other people's opinions. But here's the truth: Their thoughts and judgments are not your business. 🙅‍♀️

🌼 Your worth is not determined by the opinions of others. You are unique, special, and deserving of love and happiness, just as you are. Embrace your authenticity and let go of the need for validation from anyone else.

⚡️ Focus on what truly matters: your own growth, happiness, and fulfillment. Direct your energy towards your passions, goals, and relationships that bring joy and positivity into your life. Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you, rather than drain your energy with their judgments or negativity.

🌈 Remember, you have the power to choose where to invest your time and energy. Let go of the fear of judgment and societal expectations. Trust your instincts and follow your heart's desires. The only opinion that truly matters is the one you hold of yourself.

40 Life Lessons in 40 Years

3. Love is more than a Feeling.

Love is not just the butterflies in our stomachs or the fireworks that light up our souls when we're with someone. It goes far beyond that initial rush of emotions.

Love is a commitment—an unwavering dedication to the well-being and happiness of another person. It's a conscious decision to support, respect, and cherish someone, even when the road gets bumpy. Love is not always easy, but it's the choice to stay and weather the storms together. Love is showing up, consistently and genuinely, even when it's not convenient.

Today, I invite you to reflect on the power of love as a conscious choice. Let's embrace the responsibility that comes with it and commit to nurturing the relationships that matter most to us. Let us choose love each day and create a world where love is not just a feeling, but a profound and transformative decision.

2. Embrace Change. Embrace Life.

Life is a constant journey of change, and it's time to embrace it with open arms. Change is not something to be feared; it's a catalyst for growth, transformation, and endless possibilities. When we embrace change, we unlock doors to new adventures, opportunities, and personal discoveries.

Change is not always easy, and there will be moments of discomfort and uncertainty. It means venturing into the unknown and challenging the familiar. But I firmly believe that growth happens outside our comfort zones. By challenging ourselves and embracing change, we discover our true potential, resilience, and the boundless possibilities that await us.

Lately, I've been feeling like I'm in the midst of a battle. It seems like every day presents a new challenge or obstacle to overcome, and it can be exhausting to keep up with everything.

But amidst all these uncertainties, I've learned the importance of always choosing my peace. It's not always easy, but when I prioritize my inner well-being and make decisions that bring me a sense of calm and contentment, I am able to focus on the present moment and let go of any negative thoughts or worries that may be clouding my mind.

I know many of us are facing our battles right now, whether they're related to work, relationships, health, or something else. But I want to encourage you to remember that your peace is worth fighting for. You deserve peace.

Take a moment to breathe, pray to God, reflect on what matters to you, and make choices that bring you closer to the life you want to live.

Remember, you are your own best friend. Give yourself permission to take care of yourself.

The Alchemist
by: Paolo Coelho

One of the first few books I started reading in college. This literally changes how I perceive life by manifesting and having faith in my dreams.

A must-read for anyone looking for guidance on their journey to fulfilling their dreams. The book teaches us to trust the universe, follow our hearts, and embrace the journey toward achieving our goals. It's a beautiful reminder that the treasure we seek is often closer than we think and that every experience we have serves a purpose.

Here are some takeaways from this very inspiring book. Happy reading!

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you feel like someone just doesn't like you, even though you haven't done anything to them? It can be frustrating and confusing, but the truth is, not everyone is going to like us--and that's okay!

We all have different personalities, interests, and values, and not everyone is going to vibe with us. But that doesn't mean we should change who we are or try to please everyone. In fact, it's important to stay true to ourselves and surround ourselves with people who appreciate and support us for who we are.

So if you ever find yourself in a situation where someone doesn't like you, don't take it personally. Instead, focus on the people who do love and accept you for who you are, and let go of the need for everyone to like you. Remember, it's not about being liked by everyone, it's about being true to yourself and finding those who truly appreciate you.

I am still in the process.

Every day I struggle to remind myself of this thought.

My tendency to overwork, to be a perfectionist, and people-pleaser made me a burnout ju**ie, and my overly obsessive-compulsive self struggled to set boundaries. I couldn’t say “No” because I avoid tension and I don't want them to feel that I am a weak leader.

But I know, work is not my family. I am replaceable anytime so whatever amount of effort, time, and sacrifice I put in, they will still think that I am not good enough.

So yeah, “Yes” to myself, and to my whole being.

Work is an important part of many people's lives, but it's important to remember that it's not the same as family. While work can provide a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and financial stability, it's important to maintain a healthy work-life balance and not let work take over your personal life completely.

It's important to prioritize your physical and mental health, relationships, and hobbies outside of work to ensure a well-rounded and fulfilling life. While it's natural to invest energy and time into your job, it's important to set boundaries and not let it consume your entire identity. Remember to take breaks, prioritize self-care, and maintain healthy relationships with your loved ones.
