Pleasantries mga ka GK! Your chismosong lolo is back to give you some interesting topics and chismis. For today's topic, we will be chismising (discussing) "THE RPW-PH GRANDBALL, WHEN DID IT START?". Kelan nga ba at ano nga ba ang Rpw-ph Grandball or National Roleplayers day?

Some people might be curious, when did Rpw-ph Grandball or The National Roleplayers day start? Some people don't know that Rpw-ph Grandball exists, because they're not informed or they just don't care about it. Other people might also think that Rpw-ph Grandball, started in the same year Rpw-ph was discovered/made. We decided to search for it and we discovered some pieces of information that are kinda helpful, so let's start. Shall we?
First, Is the Rpw-ph Grandball only happen in the Philippines? The answer is, yes. International Roleplayers, don't celebrate Grandball. The Grandball event or the National Roleplayers day that some of you know only applies in our roleplaying community. That's right, only in the Philippines. So that means, we're the only ones who celebrate it? That's right.
So how and why? Fyi, since rpw-ph started to grow in the year 2011 to 2013. Grandball, is just a THEME for Gang, University, Academy, Family, and Hood Parties. The Rpw-ph Grandball that we know didn't start in the same year Rpw-ph was made. Oho, interesting right? It is, indeed. So kung may nasalihan man kayong Grandball, then that means it's not an Official Rpw-ph Grandball Event because it's just their THEME. They used it as a theme because Balls or Royalties are popular theme way back then. Until now, some groups here in rpw-ph use the Grandball as their theme party. Am I right? We also discovered that some roleplaying groups, are also making a grand ball event inside of their groups and only their group members are joining.
So when did the Rpw-ph Grandball officially start? What year? I and my co-admods decided to search what year the grand ball officially started and we found out, it was the year 2018. That's right, the Rpw Grandball that we all know officially started in the year 2018. Not 2013, not 2015 or 2017, it's 2018.
Mr. Kairo T Flinx, with his co-admods, is the one who originally started the event that we all know as Rpw Grandball Event. How did we know? One of our admins is a part of their group since 2019. Where is their group then? Do we have any evidence that it's the first Rpw Grandball Event? The answer is, Yes. I also joined the group, scrolling and searching for information inside it. The only problem is, their group is already private and archived. Only a few people can join and post there, also some of the posts from the 2018 event are deleted too. Min, one of our admins reach Mr.Kairo T. Flinx. She asked for a commentary about the RPW-PH GRANDBALL and luckily, he give us positive feedback about it.
The first Grandball that was officially organized by Mr. Kairo was on Dec 9, 2018. A lot of roleplayers attended it, wearing their formal attire. Gown for the Ladies, while Tuxedo/Suit for the Gentlemen. Thousands of roleplayers gathered, celebrating it. That the other members continue the event, until Dec 21 and 22.
The year 2019, sadly hindi natuloy ang Grandball nila Mr. Kairo. I don't know the reason but there are some Roleplayers who discovered the first RPW Grandball, in the year 2018 and decided to make their Event. It's not that big, but there's hundreds or thousands of roleplayers attended it too. The Rpw-ph Grandball, the year 2018 and 2019 is not that popular with the other roleplayers because it's the first time.
So if it started on Dec 9, how did it become April 21? In the year 2019, April 21 is the first date when Filipino Roleplayers started greeting "Happy National Roleplayers Day". No Grandball Event happened that year, just some Roleplayers greeting each other.
Now, in the year 2020. There was another Grandball that was held, on the date of April 21. Yes, that's right. That's the Rpw-ph Grandball Group, that you guys know and attend. It was organized and created by our Head Administrator Ezra Glyrrh with her Co-Admods Ailee, Gavin, Jae, Haileigh, Ken, Yscarlet, Kathleen, Knox, Kia, Maxie, Sav, Holden, Maxine, and Hades.

It become the official Rpw-Ph Grandball, and it clicked. Thousands of Filipino Roleplayers gathered and celebrated National Roleplayers day there. Starting that year, Roleplayers got used to the Rpw-Ph Grandball that always happened once a year. Well, some of them still don't know or just some of them care about it.
Fun fact: Using a frame for Grandball, started in the year 2020.
In the year 2021, a lot of Grandball Groups started to appear confusing some of the Roleplayers. Another Grandball Group appeared, making a name for every roleplayer but that group only lasted a year. They both celebrate it together at the same time, the RPW Grandball (Official hall) group and the Old Era Group. Sadly, the Old era group got hacked and it become chaotic there. I don't where the creator is, but I hope he's doing well.
We have two different groups. Which is the RPW GRANDBALL (OFFICIAL HALL), where we posted and celebrated the main event. Then the second group is the RPW GRANDBALL (FREE WALL), where you can freely post anything related to the Grandball event or some posts that have some sense.

We don't have any issues or problems, for those people who want to create their Grandball event group. A lot of people asked for our permission if they can make their Grandball event, and we agree and supported their event. As long as the theme and date are not the same as ours. It makes us uncomfortable, knowing that some people are copying our work and ignoring our efforts. So I hope, we can all work together without issues in the future.
Also an important reminder for everyone. A lot of people think, that you can't attend the Grandball event if you don't have a partner. You're wrong! RPW-Ph Grandball doesn't require any partners. It's not required, note that. You can bring or invite your friends, family, hoods, universities, corps, org, academies, and every group that is connected to Rpw-Ph.
