Alvin Aragon spoke candidly about the reason behind Izzy’s resignation from the iconic girl group S*xBomb during an interview with Jigo Postolero, emphasizing that her decision was deeply rooted in faith and personal beliefs.
According to Alvin, questions about the group’s name and image became part of a larger reflection on values and influence, particularly on young audiences. He shared:
“Ano bang mali sa pangalan? S*xbomb. Ano ba yung s*x? Iisipin ng lahat ng bata kung ano ang s*x. S*x is actually created by God na ginagamit ng husband at wives, not girlfriend and boyfriend, at hindi dapat isipin agad ng bata yun. Alam mo yun, iwas dun—hindi pleasing yun, hindi magandang impluwensya sa maraming tao sa Pilipinas, sa mga bata especially, kasi hindi pa time eh para isipin ang s*x, kasi bata pa sila.”
Alvin explained that beyond the group’s name, modesty in clothing was also a concern. He expressed his belief that attire influences how a person is perceived and treated.
“Second, yung damit. May damit kasing gagalangin ka. Pero may damit na kita ang cleavage mo at legs. Walang lalaking magnanasa kung maayos kang manamit. Maraming lalaking gusto makakita ng cleavage tsaka legs, eh kahit naka-see-through ka pa.”
He further cited scripture to support his perspective, referencing a biblical teaching about lust and intention:
“Anong sabi ni Jesus? If you look lustfully at the woman, you are already committed adultery in your heart. Tignan mo pa lang ang babae na nagnanasa ka, parang ginawa mo na ang physical act.”
The discussion also touched on dance performances, where Alvin distinguished between what he described as wholesome routines and those he considered “seducing.”
“Ano pa? Sayaw. Merong wholesome na sayaw, merong sayaw na sejucing. Sige, sumayaw ka ng sejucing—anong mararamdam ng lalaki na may sumasayaw na seducing ang atake? Pag wholesome, maayos naman, eh. Diba? Pero pag seducing, iba ang nararamdamin natin. Alam niyo yan, men. Alam niyo yan, mga lalaki.”
Ultimately, Alvin maintained that Izzy chose to step away from the group as part of her spiritual journey.
“So umiwas si Izzy dun—yun ang will ni Lord, eh.”
