Why keeping it quiet helps

Psychologist Peter Gollwitzer’s research found the same thing: people who kept goals private were more likely to complete them than people who announced them publicly.

Announcing also invites other people’s doubts, jealousy, or unsolicited advice. 77% of self-made millionaires reportedly avoid sharing goals until they’ve won, specifically to dodge that noise.
