But here's the part many people leave out.

The study found an association—not proof that instant noodles directly caused the condition. In science, a link doesn't necessarily mean one thing caused the other. Other lifestyle and dietary factors could also have played a role.

Still, researchers have raised several reasons why frequent consumption may be worth paying attention to.

One concern is sodium. A single serving can contain up to about 1,800 milligrams, a large portion of the recommended daily limit. Regularly consuming high amounts of sodium has been linked to elevated blood pressure.
