A grieving man was arrested after breaking into a dog shelter late at night—but the reason behind it has touched many people.

Security cameras initially made staff believe a burglary was taking place. The man was seen walking through the kennel area after midnight while dozens of dogs watched from behind their gates.

Moments later, another camera revealed him lying on the floor, surrounded by the shelter dogs.

According to police, he had been drinking after losing his beloved dog to cancer just a week earlier. Nothing was stolen, no animals were harmed, and shelter workers said the footage was heartbreaking to watch.

He wasn’t there to take anything.

He was there because he missed his best friend.

I am disgusted by the people who donated half a million dollars to Karmelo Anthony simply because he was a Black teenager accused of killing a white teenager.

A white child is dead. A family is destroyed. Parents are grieving a son they will never get back.

And what did people do?

They rushed to raise half a million dollars for the person accused in his death.

Let’s stop pretending this was about “justice.”
Let’s stop pretending this was about “self-defense.”
Let’s stop pretending this was anything other than people turning a dead white teenager into a political trophy.

If you donated because you saw the race of the accused and the race of the victim and decided that was enough for you, you should be ashamed of yourself.

That is not compassion.
That is not justice.
That is disgusting.

Your money is your money. You can donate to whoever you want.

But when half a million dollars gets raised after a child is dead, don’t be surprised when people see exactly who you are.
