Walking through Bukchon Hanok Village literally feels like stepping onto a historical K-drama set, but it’s actually a real neighborhood where people still live. It’s nice seeing these ancient traditional houses right in the middle of a modern city like Seoul.

This is also a great place to wear a traditional hanbok. Aside from Gyeongbokgung Palace, there are plenty of hanbok rental shops nearby so you can fully immerse yourself in the historical vibe.

Quick Tips for your visit:

Be a respectful traveler: Real people actually live in these beautiful homes! Keep your voices low and respect the “quiet zone” signs.

The golden shot: Go to “Bukchon-ro 11-gil” for that iconic uphill view that frames the traditional alleys against the N Seoul Tower.

Time: Seoul has strictly implemented a tourist curfew for the main residential zones here. Non-residents are only allowed to visit between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
