NYK-Fil inaugurates Ballast Water Simulator

Coinciding with their 25th Anniversary, NYK-Fil Maritime e-Training, Inc., inaugurated its Ballast Water Simulator.

The newest facility is housed in its Canlubang, Calamba City property, along with its other training facilities and is expected to boost the competencies of seafarers under its wings when it comes to ballasting.

Ballasting helps to stabilize the ship, keeping it upright and ensuring proper maneuverability.

The simulator will be used to analyze the effects of ballast water exchange, transfer, and treatment on the ship's stability, trim, and draft.
