Have you ever heard of a personal growth kit — an all-in one guide to grow the areas of our lives. It's a way to 'invest' in your lifetime. So, it’s good to 'invest' and have a plan for strategic growth for your lifetime. (Like the wise stewards in the biblical parable of the talents).
Growth always comes in two areas: choice and skill (like the inward and the outward). In our lessons the areas of choice are more like soft-skills—attitude, belief, perspective, values, confidence, faith, and trust. Areas of skill are more akin to hard-skills—writing, planning, strategy, coding, fitness, diet, professional development, etc.
Over the next several lessons, we’re going to develop our growth / investment plans together along the following three axes—
1. Assessment
2. Ambition
3. Advancement
These are better expressed in three questions:
• Where am I?
• Where am I going?
• How will I get there?
Your plan is going to be personalized and it’s going to involve one area of choice and one area of skill. Just follow along and you’ll end these lessons with your own personalized growth and investment plan. Let’s get started.

Lesson #1
The Law of Intentionality: (Life is governed by many 'laws' of nature and the universe)
So, Let's Start with Two Questions:
1. What are you doing to 'develop' yourself? (investing what God has given you)
2. What are you doing to 'develop' others? (investing so you can help others)
Growth is not automatic. It has to be on 'purpose' intentionally. Nature suggests that growth just happens. But that’s not the truth.
On a scale - Change and chance are lower, they're automatic. Change happens whether you like it or not, but growth is 'higher' than change.... growth is 'guided' change.
Growth requires planning, strategy, and focused effort. Growth is intentional. As a giver, a leader, you must first invest in yourself because you can’t give what you don’t have.
Growth, not chance or change is the only guarantee that your tomorrow is going to be different, is going to get better.”

Questions for Journal Reflection:
How many choices in your day are intentional? Of those, how many are choices in the moment (or by chance) and how many are the result of a strategy?
Questions for Group Discussion:
In your opinion, why do people get change and growth confused?
Of the choices you make with your team, how many are made in the moment and how many are based on strategy?
