This cultural tendency can influence perceptions of accountability especially in politics and governance, where errors may be acknowledged with apologies and then seemingly repeated, creating a vicious cycle. While forgiveness is valuable, it is important to insist on clear accountability, if a mistake is made, there should be appropriate consequences, It should not stop at "I'm sorry."
