Hong Kong-based Kambal Gallery took part at this year’s The ManilaBang Show 2024.

36 local and international galleries took part in this year’s four-day event.

As part of their cross-cultural agreement between the Philippines and Korea, Kambal Gallery represented both Filipino and South Korean visual artists at the venue.

“Suddenly yung bigla nalang ‘boom,’ nag start sa akin parang nag cra-crave na ako. Parang gustong ibalik yung pag pa-paint. Para ito ako. Hindi lang dapat nasa bahay lang. Hindi lang dapat sa business line. Sabi ko parang mayroon akong something purpose sa buhay ko na dapat kung ituloy since nuong nagiging start pa lang ako, parang feeling may kulang talaga,” ani Mylene Quito, visual artist.

(“One day it suddenly hit me. There was this craving to paint. I want to do more than just be a stay-at-home housewife or just do business. I told myself that I have a purpose in my life that I want to pursue,” said visual artist Mylene Quito.)

Organized by the Congressional Spouses Foundation Incorporated in collaboration with Manila-based art gallery Sentro Artista Philippines, the event aims to raise funds for three beneficiaries:

- Victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine,
- Non-organic personnel of the House of Representatives, and
- Bagong Bayaning Mandrigma Casualty and Cancer Care Center
