WE’RE ALREADY TEARING UP 🤍

Ibinunyag na ng American pop star na si Sabrina Carpenter ang pamagat ng kanyang final track na “Tears,” sa kanyang upcoming album “Man’s Best Friend.”

“Thank you to all my beautiful perfect fans that helped me reveal the tracklist for Man’s Best Friend,” ani ni Sabrina sa kanyang IG post ngayong Sabado, Agosto 2.

Ilalabas ang kanyang album sa Agosto 29 at kabilang sa mga kanta papaloob rito ay ang “Manchild,” “Tears,” “My Man on Willpower,” “Sugar Talking,” “We Almost Broke Up Again Last Night,” at iba pa.

Sa paggunita ng Bacoor Assembly nitong Biyernes, Agosto 1, binigyang-diin ni Senator Loren Legarda ang kahalagahan ng pagpapatibay sa pagkakaisa ng Pilipino at pag-alala sa kasaysayan para mapanatili at mapalakas ang kalayaan ng Pilipinas.

Bilang author ng Bacoor Assembly of 1898 Act (Republic Act No. 12073), binigyang-diin ni Sen. Legarda na hindi lamang tradisyon ang pag-alala sa kasaysayan ng pakikibaka, kundi isang pundasyon ng lakas para sa patuloy na pagbuo ng bansa.

“Independence is not just the freedom to act, but the freedom to act for others. And the true strength of the Filipino lies in standing firm, not just for oneself, but for the nation,” sabi ni Sen. Legarda.

“We will not achieve true independence if we do not know ourselves as a nation. And with every step that deepens our understanding of our culture and history, we strengthen our freedom,” dagdag ng four-term senator.

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng faculty members ng University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law nitong Biyernes, Agosto 1, sinabi nila na ang impeachment ay iba sa criminal at administrative proceedings dahil pinagpapasyahan ito sa pamamagitan ng political at moral judgment ng mga elected officials.

Kaugnay ito sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema na nagdeklarang “unconstitutional” ang inihaing Articles of Impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte dahil labag umano ito sa one-year bar rule at hindi umano nasunod ang due process nito.

Naniniwala naman ang faculty members ng UP College of Law na sinunod lamang ng Kongreso ang batas ayon sa Court in Francisco v. House of Representatives at Gutierrez v. Committee on Justice kung saan ang Kamara ang may kakayahang mag-initiate ng impeachment sa pamamagitan ng paghain ng reklamo at pag-refer nito sa nararapat na komite.

Sumang-ayon naman sila sa sinabi ni retired Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Adolfo Azcuna na tumataliwas ang desisyon ng Korte sa “design” na pumoprotekta sa proseso ng impeachment sa “tyrannical majority.”

“As our colleagues have also noted the ruling creates an incentive for the filing of sham complaints to trigger the one-year bar rule—a political strategy once criticized by a justice as making ‘a mockery of the power of impeachment,’” saad ng faculty members.

Ayon pa sa kanila, ang impeachment ay hindi “required” i-observe ang due process tulad ng ibang administrative proceedings dahil ang impeachment trial umano mismo ang due process.
