𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗥𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

More than 10.000 freshmen officially began their Thomasian journey during the annual Freshmen Welcome Walk and ROARientation of the University of Santo Tomas, held on August 6, 2025. Despite an unexpected downpour, the spirit of unity and excitement radiated as students finally marched in their uniforms, marking the beginning of the Academic Year 2025-2026.

Among them were 669 first-year students from the UST-AMV College of Accountancy, confidently gracing the parade in hues of red. With echoing cheers and unwavering enthusiasm, they passed the rite of passage with warm smiles amidst drizzle.

Visited in a dream by St. Peter and St. Paul, Saint Dominic de Guzman was chosen by the divine to lead by example and preach the Word of God. Guided by a book and staff, he embodied knowledge, truth, humility, and self-sacrifice, showing that true faith lies in words and deeds.

As we commemorate St. Dominic’s life and teachings, let us embody his values in our lives, inspiring others to do the same, wielding both his courage and faith.

Dean Patricia M. Empleo, Ph.D. of the UST-AMV College of Accountancy delivered her inaugural lecture titled “Internal Control: Key to Effective Enterprise Risk Management” during the annual Discurso de Apertura at the Santisimo Rosario Parish Church on Tuesday, August 5, marking the start of the academic year 2025-2026.

The Diocese of San Pablo Bishop, His Excellency Most Rev. Marcelino Antonio M. Maralit, Jr., D.D., solemnly presided over the Misa de Apertura (Mass of the Holy Spirit) and formally declared the new academic year open.

The UST- AMV College of Accountancy warmly welcomed approximately 669 freshmen as they partake in the Thomasian annual tradition, rite of passage, igniting new AMVians' crimson hearts for the academic year 2025-2026.

The in-person freshmen activity started with a solemn Welcome Mass and an energetic ROARientation at the Quadricentennial Pavilion. The event culminated with the Thomasian Welcome Walk, where AMVians walked through the famous Arch of the Centuries.
