We are 4th-Year AB Broadcasting students at the University of the East - Manila. We are conducting a survey for our undergraduate research titled, "PirOTTa ka ba?: Usage and Motivations of Filipino Youth’s Engagement of Pirated Over-The-Top Video Streaming (OTTVS) Platforms."

The 2025 University of the East Pep Rally ignited the UE Quadrangle earlier today, September 2, 2025. The Mandirigmas cheered with unwavering support, filling the air with cheers of red and white pride.

The UE Pep Squad, UE Red Drummers, and UExtream Squad electrified the crowd with their performances, while the athletes received resounding applause from the community that stands firmly behind them.

Now, all eyes are on the much-awaited UAAP Season 88, opening on September 19, Friday, with the Men’s Basketball Tournament hosted by the University of Santo Tomas.

The UE-ABS Network: Ulat Mandirigma is a TV news production under the Association of Broadcasting Students that gives a platform to hone students broadcasting talents by featuring compelling campus news and stories in our university!

Ulat Mandirigma was set to be released every end of the month starting in September.

The registration is now open for those who are willing to join and is not limited, as everyone of any course is also welcome.

UST LAUNCHES UAAP Season 88 with Theme of Strength and Hope

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) officially launched UAAP Season 88 with the press conference at the Dr. Robert Sy Grand Ballroom yesterday, August 27, 2025.

The meaning behind the theme “𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲” was highlighted during the event as this symbolizes perseverance, resilience, and unity in sports and community.

It also featured the awarding of the UAAP Season 88 theme song competition winner, A Live Performance by the vocalist of pop-rock band Callallily, Kean Cipriano, a media forum, and ceremonial activities followed.

UAAP will officially open at the UST Manila this coming September 19, 2025.

As part of our thesis “Where Do We Draw the Line?: A Study on Cancel Culture and Comedy in Selected Television Programs in the Philippines”, we are exploring how cancel culture affects comedy in Philippine TV. Specifically how audiences perceive, react, and draw boundaries when it comes to comedic content.

To make this study possible, we are conducting a survey and your insights are very important to us. By sharing your honest answers, you’ll be helping us understand how viewers like you perceive, react, and set boundaries when it comes to comedic content.
