The NCAA stands with Ateneo de Manila University and the entire University Athletic Association of the Philippines community in mourning the tragic loss of Rene Clert Baterbonia and Divine Adili. They were student-athletes who played with heart, studied with grit, and cared deeply for their teammates. Their passion, dedication, and sportsmanship will always be remembered.

To their families: We share your grief and offer our heartfelt prayers for strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

To their teammates, coaches, and friends: The court feels emptier today, but the memories they created and the lives they touched will remain forever.

Today, we commemorate Pedro H. Gandia Jr., a true-blue Sebastinian scout, one of the twenty-four participants who perished in a plane crash while en route to the 11th World Scout Jamboree in Marathon, Greece, on July 28, 1963.
