Not all parents own up to their mistakes—even when deep down, they know the fault isn’t with their child. Many would rather stay silent, shift the blame, or hide behind tradition and pride. That’s what makes Daddy Jhun’s moment with Esnyr so powerful.
It wasn’t just a father talking to his son—it was a parent breaking the cycle. Daddy Jhun didn’t deflect or make excuses. He didn’t try to guilt Esnyr into understanding him. Instead, he admitted his shortcomings. He said sorry. He recognized where he fell short—not just in providing, but in being emotionally present. And he owned up to the hurt it caused.
We often talk about what children owe their parents. But rarely do we see a parent so openly and sincerely express, “I should have done better.” It’s a powerful reminder that healing doesn’t begin with pride—it begins with honesty.
To every child carrying silent pain, and to every parent learning to say “I’m sorry,” this was a moment of hope. Reconciliation isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s as quiet and meaningful as a parent saying, “I lacked… and I see it now.”
