✨ Big news ✨

ANITO has officially been selected for TIFFCOM 2025: Tokyo Gap-Financing Market! 🎉

We’re one of 23 projects (including 5 animations) from around the world heading to Tokyo this October as part of TGFM, where feature-length films in the financing stage get to meet funders, collaborators, and partners.

Anito is deeply rooted in Filipino mythology and cultural storytelling, and now we get to stand with Southeast Asian creators and international collaborators.

Thank you so much to everyone who’s believed in Anito so far! Our team, mentors, friends, and supporters. We can’t wait to bring this to Tokyo, build real connections, and see where this journey takes us.

“The man was carrying a shotgun.”
That was the only line in the script.

So our concept art team got to work--with only context clues to guide them.

- Double barrel? Director’s pick.
- Vintage-looking? Script is set in old Manila.
- The amulets? Monster hunter. Of course he’d pack some serious voodoo.
- Wear and tear? Script implied he’s been doing this a long time.

We’re constantly amazed by how they read between the lines, and then draw it. This team is the incubator of our ideas. They bring story, mood, and meaning into every design, and they leave a bit of themselves in every project.
