Haring Agila: The Eternal Flight of Nilo H. Raymundo
By Eagle Tony Cama
In the cradle of benevolence and the boundless sky of service, there rose a man whose wings knew no limits—Nilo H. Raymundo, the Haring Agila. A wealthy soul, rich not merely in worldly treasures but in an unquenchable spirit of giving, Kuya Nilo stood as a luminary for the cause-oriented and the compassionate. He was a pioneer whose flight paved the skies for the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Philippine Eagles.
The year was 1979, a moment etched into the annals of history when the winds of unity whispered promises of fraternity and purpose. As the first Eagles club, the Quezon City Central Eagles Club, took form beneath the dignified rafters of Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan, it was Nilo H. Raymundo who emerged to lead the flock. His oath, sworn with conviction and hope, marked him as the Charter National President, the first among Eagles—the Haring Agila.
By his side, his beloved wife, Ate Nina Zaldua, stood with unwavering grace, while his sons, Rannie and Lance, both celebrated musical artists, embodied the harmony and legacy of their father’s heart.
Together with 10 visionaries, Kuya Nilo formed the Ad-Hoc Committee—11 souls aflame with the desire to build a brotherhood that was more than a mere assembly of men. Their shared dream took flight under the name of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a fraternity where enlightenment, brotherhood, and service soared higher than any individual ambition.
But Kuya Nilo was not just a leader—he was a lighthouse guiding the principles of Eagleism: Enlightened, Animated by brotherhood, God-loving, Law-abiding, and Emblazoned with a mission of Service. His wings stretched far beyond the confines of the material world, casting shadows of kindness and light upon causes that needed champions.
The spirit of Kuya Nilo, the Haring Agila, lives not in the past, but in the flutter of wings that rise every time an Eagle acts with integrity, serves with heart, or uplifts a brother with love.
For there is but one life of the Agila, born in 1979—a life that endures forever, bound by a sacred promise: Sama-sama habang buhay tupdin ang adhikain into.
May the skies forever echo with the flight of the Haring Agila, whose wings, once unfurled, will never fold.
In honor of Kuya Nilo H. Raymundo, Charter National President of The Fraternal Order of Eagles-Philippine Eagles.
