Elynna’s Café started around Oct 2022 almost 3 years ago a Mediterranean inspired coffee shop/restaurant or an extension of your home the way Chef JV describes the place. And if some Filipinos cannot go to a Mediterranean Cruise or Greece & Italy in particular then perhaps Elynna’s Café can bring you the food and ambiance here in Iloilo City.
Chef JV is actually from Esperanza Sultan Kudarat and relocated here in Iloilo City few years ago because of a teaching job in a culinary/cooking school. It just so happen his former Captain (Dexter John Orduyo JBLFMU 97) also lives in Iloilo where they reconnected at Elynna’s Café.
For a modest capital a dream became a reality.
Elynna’s is proud to showcase every Saturday and Sunday their breakfast buffet for only P398 per head.
And what makes Elynna’s a cut above the rest or perhaps at par with the other restaurants around town aside from the great seaside view deck?
Well Chef JV says his INNER PASSION makes the difference as he cannot let a day pass without cooking or baking, creating something in the kitchen or galley whether it’s on board cruise ships or at Elynna’s. if others do an extra mile in their job then JV tops it all with his inner passion and besides at the end of the day you don’t feel working when you enjoy your job or doing business.
Chef JV adds that your pulse in cooking or baking will make a difference in food preparation. As he reiterates even a group of chefs let say 10 will follow a certain recipe in a cookbook to the dot you will be surprised it will all taste different and of course no doubt about it the one who has the inner passion even when facing difficulties will slay it all because the work itself is fulfilling.
Most of Chef JV's customers really dig his specially prepared dishes and mostly no leftover . If ever there's someone who just barely touched his food which is a rare occasion Chef JV feels bad and would ask himself why? Did i make a mistake? Was the preparation or presentation not good? But it will make him work harder just to make it right.
His assessment after a couple of years? Expansion of course. A branch or 2 in the City or nearby town. Ilonggos really know where to find good food at affordable price. Chef JV is always aiming for the best and hopes that one of this days having breakfast at Elynna's is like a 5 star hotel experience.
Is he aiming for a Michelin Star Rating too? Why not and Chef JV is always up to the challenge.To dream is free but he will make it happen God willing.
