ICYMI | Umalingawngaw ng kasiyahan at mga aral ang apat na sulok ng silid ng Claro M. Recto sa pagdaraos ng "On The Broad Side: Navigating the Channels of Entertainment Media" na inihanda ng PUP Broadcircle noong ika-18 ng Oktubre.

Alinsabay sa pagdiriwang ng BroadMonth 2025, hatid ng BroadCircle ang naturang programa upang idaos ang ika-23 anibersaryo ng kanilang organisasyon sa pangunguna ng ilang mga tagapagsalita at propesyunal mula sa industriya ng brodkasting, partikular sa entertainment.

Sa kanilang mga pagbabahagi, binigyang-linaw ng mga panauhin ang mga katanungan ukol sa production, conceptualization, storytelling, at iba pa.

Ikinuwento ni Audrey Delizo, writer ng Magandang Buhay at Pinoy Big Brother, ang prosesong pinagdaraanan ng mga manunulat sa pagbuo ng isang "Feel-Good Pinoy" Segment. Ani Delizo, hindi laging nasusunod kung ano ang nakikita ng manunulat na kahihinatnan ng proyekto at kinakailangan ng malikhaing pag-iisip, lalo na sa panahon ng aberya, upang gamitin ang kung ano ang mayroon lamang sila.

Ipinunto naman ng komedyanteng si Betong Sumaya na mahalagang isaalang-alang ng isang programa ang koneksyon nito sa mga manonood upang maisakatuparan ang tunay na misyon sa paglikha ng isang programa. Ani Sumaya, malaking bahagi ng epektibong koneksyon sa madla ang pagkakaroon ng team na dedikado at malikhain sa pag-iisip ng mga istorya na hindi lamang nagpapatawa kundi nagbubukas din ng kamalayan sa nakararami.

Pagdating naman sa mga dapat asahan ng mga aspiring broadcasters sa pagpasok sa industriya ng midya, ibinahagi ni Direk Treb Monteras na magiging hamon ang pagkakaroon ng sapat na pahinga at tulog. Pahayag ng direktor, isang sikretong solusyon ang paghihiwalay ng "art" sa itinuturing na trabaho at ang pagkakaroon ng iba pang libangan na labas sa linya ng propesyon.

Nagtapos ang programa sa paghalal sa mga bagong kawani ng organisasyon at opisyal na pag-anunsyo ng pagwawakas ng kasalukuyang termino. Anang organisasyon, patuloy nilang isusulong ang kanilang katagang, "Talent, Passion, Arts, PUP BroadCircle Dedicated to Excellence." at ang paghuhubog sa mga estudyanteng alagad ng midya.

| JUST IN: The PUP SC COMELEC has denied the urgent petition filed by SINAG Coalition seeking a full manual recount of votes in the College of Accountancy and Finance Student Council (CAF SC) elections.

The petition stemmed from the initial canvassing on October 27, 2025, when the CAF poll watcher left the venue, whereas concerns were subsequently raised over an error in the unofficial tally. Acting on these concerns, the PUP SC COMELEC reviewed the ballots and confirmed the existence of an error, prompting a recount to correct it. However, the Commission had admittedly failed to directly notify SINAG’s poll watcher before the recount began.

The coalition called for a recount arguing the procedural lapse after the PUP SC COMELEC failed to directly inform their poll watcher about the recount, which they said compromised transparency. The recount had proceeded with a poll watcher from another party present instead.

While the PUP SC COMELEC rejected the call for a full manual recount, it has allowed the review of 138 rejected ballots under the supervision of the Commission’s Vice Chairperson, in the presence of poll watchers from the concerned party.

TINGNAN | Nagkasa ng kilos-protesta na may temang "Halloween" ang Bagong Alyansang Makabayan kasama ang ibang hanay ng mga progresibong grupo upang ipanawagan ang pagtutol sa korapsyon, alinsunod sa mga "ghost" flood control projects ng gobyerno ni Marcos Jr., ngayon, Oktubre 31.

"Ang mga halimaw sa pamumuno ni BongBong Marcos, sila ang mga magnanakaw, ang mandarambong, sila ang pumapatay sa mamamayang Pilipino kaya nandito tayo para puksain ang nga magnanakaw, ang mga masasamang elemento sa ating bayan!," ayon kay Mong Palatino, ang Secretary General ng Bayan.

Matatandaang sa halos 996.7 bilyong pondong nakalaan sa mga flood control projects ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), naisiwalat na ₱50B dito ay inilihis bilang unprogrammed appropriations o "standby funds" ng ahensiya.

| ICYMI: PUP SC COMELEC issued their decision on three alleged pre-campaign, campaign, and post-campaign violations surrounding the College of Arts and Letters Student Council Election according to Decision No. 2025-CAL-001, 002, and 003, yesterday, October 29.

The allegations were filed by Sandigan ng Mag-aaral para sa Sambayanan PUP (SAMASA PUP) against independent candidates for president Christian Ancheta, vice president Christopher Luzuriaga, and councilor Samantha Noryn Litana.

In decisions no. 2025-CAL-001 and 002, the commission dismissed complaints against Litana for premature campaigning and Ancheta for campaign violations due to lack of merit.

In decision no. 2025-CAL-003, Ancheta was found guilty for post-campaign violations and has been issued a formal warning while the complaint against Luzuriaga for the same reason was dismissed due to lack of substantial evidence.

JUST IN | House Bill No. 5722 or the Bill seeking to remove powers of Philippine National Police (PNP) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to issue subpoena has been officially filed by Kabataan Partylist (KPL), enjoined by student-leaders from both PUP and UP namely Jacob Baluyot, Tiffany Brillante, and Joaquin Buenaflor today, October 30.

The Bill was filed in connection to the recent cases of student-leaders who have received subpoena from the PNP-CIDG regarding the September 21 anti-corruption protest in Mendiola, further stating that these subpoenas are being used to silence youths speaking up against corruption.

KPL also calls for the state forces to shift their focus in holding the corrupt officials accountable, instead of suppressing the youth sector.

LOOK | The Philippines–Bolivarian Venezuela Friendship Association (PBVFA) held a public forum titled “Confronting Hegemony, Forging Sovereignty: A Global South Stand Against US Militarism and War on Venezuela” at the Audio-Visual Room, Institute of Technology, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) today, October 30, to discuss the effects of U.S. militarism, economic warfare, and disinformation on nations across the Global South.

The PBVFA stood in support of Venezuela, calling for the lifting of sanctions, withdrawal of foreign troops, and respect for the country’s sovereignty and right to self-determination.

“We recognize that their struggle is our struggle—that the same forces attacking Venezuela are those that exploit and oppress the Filipino people. U.S. imperialism has long maintained a semi-colonial grip on the Philippines, using military bases, economic treaties, and political puppets to serve its interests,” PBVFA said in a Facebook post.

ADVISORY | The PUP Facility Management Office (FaMO) announced a scheduled power outage in the East Wing, West Wing, and Dome offices and classrooms of the Main Academic Building starting 5:00 P.M. today, October 30, which is expected to continue until further notice.

The outage is due to the temporary suspension of generator set operations caused by issues in the inspection process of diesel fuel delivery.

Meanwhile, the PUP Administration recommended adjustments in the modality of classes to ensure the continuity of academic activities.

| Narito ang pinakahuling ulat ng Partial and Unofficial Tally ng mga boto para sa Sentral na Konseho ng Mag-aaral (SKM) kaninang 4:39 ng hapon, Oktubre 29.

Mula sa 61,820 na rehistradong mag-aaral sa 15 lokal na kolehiyo ng PUP Sta. Mesa, 18,259 ang nagsumite ng kanilang boto, na nagresulta sa 29.54% na turnout rate ng mga botante sa unibersidad.

Nakapagtala ng 12,102 at 12,085 boto ang uncontested na mga kandidato para sa pagkapresidente at bise presidente ng SKM mula sa SAMASA PUP na sina JP Azusano at Tracy Ramos.

Nangunguna naman sa pagkakonsehal ang Independent Candidate na si Frank Araneta, na sinundan ng mga kandidato mula sa SAMASA PUP na sina Kim Eugenio at Dave Bolima kung saan nakatanggap ang mga ito ng 9,976, 9,555, at 9,317 na mga boto.

BREAKING NEWS | Manila prosecutor's office dismisses case against protesters during the September 21 anti-corruption protest over alleged violations of Article 146 or Illegal Assemblies, Article 148 or Direct Assault, and Batas Pambansa Blg. 880 or the Public Assembly Act, today, October 29.

All three charges were dismissed due to lack of sufficient evidence.

Mula sa 14,414 na rehistradong mag-aaral sa OUS, 1,762 lamang ang nagsumite ng kanilang boto, na nagresulta sa 12.22% turnout ng mga botante sa naturang kolehiyo.

| Sa ikatlong araw ng bilangan ng boto, narito ang ulat ng Partial and Unofficial Tally of Votes ng College of Tourism, Hospitality, and Transportation Management (CTHTM) ngayong 3:43 ng hapon, Oktubre 29.

Mula sa 3,100 na rehistradong mag-aaral sa CTHTM, 864 lamang ang nagsumite ng kanilang boto, na nagresulta sa 27.87% turnout ng mga botante sa naturang kolehiyo.

Nakapagtala ng 550 at 546 boto ang uncontested na mga kandidato para sa pagkapresidente at bise presidente mula sa SAMASA PUP CTHTM na sina Roman Tongco at Kael Maraon.

| Sa ikatlong araw ng bilangan ng boto, narito ang ulat ng Partial and Unofficial Tally of Votes ng College of Business Administration (CBA) ngayong 2:08 ng hapon, Oktubre 29.

Mula sa 5,466 na rehistradong mag-aaral sa CBA, 2,042 ang nagsumite ng kanilang boto, na nagresulta sa 37.36% turnout ng mga botante sa naturang kolehiyo.

Nakapagtala ng 1,632 at 1,625 boto ang uncontested na mga kandidato para sa pagkapresidente at bise presidente mula sa Sibol na sina Adrianne Althea Atender at Jen Furto.
