Boracay isn’t overrated… and THIS is exactly why. 🇵🇭🏝️

No matter how many places I visit in the Philippines, Boracay is still one of my favorites.

🏝️ Beautiful white-sand beaches
🌅 Incredible sunsets
🍽️ Tons of restaurants & cafés
🍹 Beach bars & nightlife
🤿 Island hopping & water activities
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly
✈️ Only about a 1-hour flight from Manila to Caticlan

Whether you want to relax, eat, explore, party, or spend quality time with family, Boracay really has it all.

🇵🇭 How do you stay connected when traveling to the Philippines?

You basically have 3 options:

📱 Local eSIM — Globe or Smart
Usually one of the best-value options, especially if you’re staying for a while and want local service.

🌎 International eSIM — Airalo
This is one of the easiest options for travelers. You can set it up before your trip and have data ready when you arrive in the Philippines—no hunting for a SIM card after a long flight.

🇺🇸 Your U.S. carrier
Depending on your plan, you may be able to use international roaming. It’s convenient because you keep your existing number, but make sure you check the rates and data allowance before you travel.

For convenience, I like having an international eSIM ready before I land. ✈️📲

🇺🇸💵 Bringing USD to the Philippines? Here’s what I recommend! 🇵🇭

Don’t overthink getting pesos when you arrive.

✈️ Exchange a small amount at the airport for convenience. The rate might not always be the absolute best, but I’d rather get my pesos and go than wait in a long money-exchange line at an SM mall or hypermarket.

A few tips:

💵 Bring clean, newer USD bills
💯 $100 bills may get better rates
📱 Check the USD/PHP rate before exchanging
💰 Don’t exchange all your cash at once
🏧 Run out of pesos? Withdraw more from an ATM
🇵🇭 At ATMs, generally choose to be charged in PHP rather than letting the ATM convert it to USD
💳 Use cards where accepted, but ALWAYS keep some pesos on you

Cash is still extremely useful for markets, small restaurants, tricycles, tips, and traveling around the provinces.

Sometimes convenience is worth more than saving a few pesos. 🇵🇭
