UST History Society The official page of the UST History Society (USTHSTSOC), the official student organization for all Thomasian History students.

The UST History Society, officially recognized by the UST Office for Student Affairs in 2015, is an organization which caters the needs of students taking up the History program offered by the University of Santo Tomas- Faculty of Arts and Letters. Embodied with the University’s values of compassion, competence, and commitment, along with the Faculty’s passion for wisdom and beauty, the society co

mmits itself in bringing awareness in the field of History through different activities and interest guilds that will gear its members towards holistic development. Moreover, the Society promotes glory, pride, and honor within its members as they endeavor in being globally-competitive professionals in the near future. LOGO
The logo itself is a Vinta, symbolizing the voyage of the students of the society in the vast Ocean, on what we refer as the field of History. The sail is primarily divided into three. The upper portion shows the colors of the University of Santo Tomas. The middle portion shows the different shades of the Society. Lastly, the lower portion shows the colors of the Faculty of Arts and Letters. Superimposed at the middle portion of the sail is the Baybayin translation of the word Kasaysayan. This symbolizes the History majors’ goal to spread awareness and consciousness to the Filipinos with regard to our own history. The hull of the boat, meanwhile, is colored black, carrying the name of the Society. It is colored such to represent the boldness of the Society—that we will be courageous enough to study History rightly and to correct the mistakes on the study of History.

“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

On May 30, 2025, the long-anticipated UST Baccalaureate Mass will be held in celebration for our beloved seniors. Years filled with days and nights of coffee and energy drinks, tears full of frustration and tiredness, and finally, pride, as your hardwon thesis is approved.

This batch of graduation History Majors started their academic life online in the midst of the pandemic. Their new normal meant a lot of missed experiences. Yet still they made the best of it and formed bonds that would only be enhanced as they stepped foot into the college for their first f2f session during third year. They would strive to bring forth the excellency called upon them by the academe of history, and they flourished.

Their resourcefulness and adaptability, guided by the knowledge imparted unto them by our beloved history department, has finally flowered into what is now the beginning of the rest of their lives. As they exit the Arch of the Centuries, we’re sure that whatever path they may take will bear fruit, and we’re excited to see all the different ways they’ll thrive.

We invite all lower years to join us, and let’s send them off with a warm smile. Give them your loudest and brightest cheers HSTomasinos! Show them how grateful we are to have known them.

We’re so proud of you History Seniors! Congratulations!

“If you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

The story told between two individuals are as vast as the stars in the sky. Although the vastness of space may make every twinkling star a dot in the night sky, each star is unique. It twinkles in its own right, special simply in its existence.

As the UST Baccalaureate Mass approaches, let us congratulate this year's batch of UST AB History Seniors. Let us cherish each goodbye as we welcome new beginnings.

“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

The years that passed with you honing your skills may seem tiresome and dreary, but the time spent and how you chose to do so make up a grand portion of all the experiences that amount to you.

As the UST Baccalaureate Mass approaches, let us congratulate this year's batch of UST AB History Seniors. Let us show them how grateful we are for all the memories we shared.

“You - you alone will have the stars as no one else has them...In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night...You - only you - will have stars that can laugh.” - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

When the time for goodbyes approaches, you may flinch or hide from the scorch and run in fear of ever being warm. But remember that people come and go, remember the warmth that these ties bring, and remember the times together well spent.

As the UST Baccalaureate Mass approaches, let us congratulate this year's batch of UST AB History Seniors. Let us wave goodbye with our heads held high.
