The PSEi recorded negative annual returns in these years due to major global events and local economic challenges:

🔻 2001 - 2002: Political instability, aftermath of 9/11, global slowdown and economic uncertainty.

🔻 2008: Global Financial Crisis.

🔻 2015: China’s economic slowdown, yuan devaluation, US interest rate hike concerns, and foreign fund outflows.

🔻 2016: Continued concerns over US interest rate increases.

🔻 2018: Rising inflation, BSP rate hikes, US–China trade war

🔻 2020 - 2021: C0V1D pandemic, lockdowns, and recovery uncertainty

🔻 2022: High global inflation, aggressive interest rate hikes, Russia-Ukraine war

🔻 2025: Flood control corruption scandal, disappointing economic growth and foreign selling.

🔻 2026 YTD: US Iran tensions, continued concerns over the flood control scandal, weak peso, foreign selling, inflation concerns and interest rate hike expectations.

Hindi ako mabubuhay sa dividends since I retired noong 2019 kung 200K lang ang total investment ko haha 😂. Hindi yan aabutin ng 6 months ubos na. 200K lang ang annual limit ng PERA kaya wala pa talaga million sa PERA acct ko 😃.

Lalaglag ulit PSEi to 5629.47, 4 straight days nang p**a 📉❤️. Kaya hindi happy si Moneyzone ng PSE sa SEC approval ng sandbox testing ng DF for global equities sa DF platform.
