The 2025 China Freediving All-Around Open has officially kicked off—and it’s bringing all the underwater excitement! Starting Aug 21 at Jiangsu Xuyi Xiangshan National Mine (Geological) Park, the event features three key competitions: Constant Weight Without Fins, Pool Dynamic, and Static Apnea, plus a unique dual-venue setup of “natural waters + standard swimming pool.” So far, 45 diving enthusiasts from Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and more have joined in.
If you’re a freediving lover in the Philippines, you don’t have to look far for incredible spots—here are top picks to explore:
【Bohol】: Dive Napaling Crack (25m deep near Tangnan’s Kalikasan Resort Reef) for vivid coral walls and swirling sardine schools, or visit Balicasag Island to swim alongside sea turtles, jacks, and barracudas.

Ever heard of Zhuang Wanli（庄万里）, the "Confucian Businessman" from the Philippines?
Great news—starting Aug. 20, the "Treasures Return to the Sea: Zhuang Wanli Family’s Liangtuxuan Calligraphy & Painting Exhibition" opens to the public at Shanghai Museum (People’s Square Branch)!
Zhuang (1899-1965), a Filipino-Chinese businessman, loved Chinese culture deeply. Worried about Chinese cultural relics scattered overseas, he spent his life collecting precious calligraphy and paintings, storing them in his "Liangtuxuan" study in suburban Manila. After his passing, his children carried on his wish: they invited experts to appraise the collection, selected 233 masterpieces, and generously donated them to Shanghai Museum in 2000—the first time a foreign Chinese family gave such a large number of rare relics to a national-level Chinese museum!
This exhibition is a heartfelt tribute to the Zhuang family’s devotion to safeguarding Chinese culture. What an amazing legacy!
