From our recent HPUP Sine, we heard an inspiring message from our special guest speakers and representatives of Eduksine, 𝙈𝙨. 𝙆𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙨 and 𝙈𝙨. 𝘼𝙢𝙞𝙧𝙖 𝘼𝙡 𝙎𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙝, who left us with words that truly reminded us of the real value of Filipino films:
"Hindi lang basta pelikula ang mahalaga kundi yung usapan, koneksyon, at kultura na nabubuo dahil dito. Kahit indie film na maliit ang budget o konti lang ang nanonood, may kwento pa ring kayang ibuga." 🎥
"At habang may kabataang naniniwala at handang gumawa ng paraan para mas maraming makapanood, may pag-asa ang sining na atin." 🙌✨
Truly, this event is something we’ll never forget—and as youth, may we continue to carry the passion to share our stories, support local films, and 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤. 🌏❤️🎬

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐇𝚰𝐏 |

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Catch a glimpse of what went down during the recently concluded term ender! The event served as a chance to reflect and celebrate this year’s milestones. It also served as a platform to officially launch this year’s magazine entitled “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐬, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞.” Lastly, the event gave recognition to the outstanding efforts of its excellent members, awarding and honoring those who went above and beyond in service, creativity, and dedication.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success. Here’s to a year well-tied.

We proudly launch our latest magazine, 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕: 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒔, 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆 — a compelling issue that discuss the ties that bind us to injustice, spectacle politics, and inequality.

This year’s issue dives into the BUHOL — the political knots that bind and suffocate. It follows the quiet but persistent unraveling, the PAGKALAG, where chants, movements, and everyday resistance slowly loosen the grip of oppression. And finally, we ask: after the loosening, what comes next? Is there PAG-ASA — a hope that doesn’t ignore the struggle but rises from within it?

As systems tighten their grip, let us learn how to trace the knots, confront the knot-makers, and imagine the freedom that awaits.

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 | Hope Lies Within Us: DocuFest 2025 Finally Hits the Big Screen

After several postponements and much anticipation, the Department of Broadcast Communication finally launched the much-awaited 4th Year Documentary Festival titled “Hope Lies Within Us”, last August 2, at PUP Bulwagang Bonifacio.

All twelve productions came together for the screening, joined by faculty, students, and guests in a celebration of stories that dared to reveal, feel, and resist. Each documentary explored timely and heartfelt themes from the colorful yet challenging lives within the drag community, women’s place in faith and politics, the struggles of laborers, the weight of grief and absence, to love unfolding in the shadow of territorial conflict. The films moved seamlessly between the personal and the political, reflecting the realities of people often left in the margins.

To cap off the screening, all productions were awarded certificates in recognition of their dedication and the impact of their work. The festival once again showed the power of storytelling—raw, purposeful, and alive. More than just film projects, these documentaries serve as platforms to question, to remember, and to spark change—all of it in the service of the people.
