“Why did you choose this path?” ✨

That was the question asked during one of our discussions in my training at Eliora—and honestly, it stopped me in my tracks 🤍

Because even though I’m already a VA, the question made me pause, reflect, and look back at why I started in the first place.

I began my journey in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic—one of the most uncertain and difficult eras for so many of us 🌍💔
Life felt fragile. Plans were disrupted. Priorities shifted. And in that season, God slowly taught me something important 🙏
Work should not just be about surviving—it should be about living with intention and faith.

Back then, my reason was simple but deeply personal:
👉 I wanted more time with my family—especially my kids 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💕

Growing up, my siblings and I were blessed in many ways. My parents were incredibly hardworking 💪
They were present during the big milestones of my life—and for that, I will always be grateful 🤍

But there were moments in between those milestones that stayed with me.

The moments when I just wanted someone to talk to 🗣️
The moments when I wanted to cry, to vent, magsumbong kapag pagod na pagod na ako 😔
The moments when I needed emotional presence—not just provision.

Those experiences shaped me deeply as a parent.

Because I don’t want that same distance to exist between me and my children.

Together with my hubby, we are raising our family the best way we know how 💑
Hindi kami perfect na parents—but we are trying.
We are learning 📖
We are choosing to be intentional every single day ✨
And above all, we are doing our best to center our family on God, trusting Him to guide us where we fall short 🙏

That’s why working from home is more than just a job for me—it’s a privilege from God 🏡✨

Being a VA allows me to earn while staying present 💻
To support my family while being emotionally available 🤍
To show up as a wife and a mother—not just a provider 👩‍💼➡️👩‍👧‍👦
To choose purpose over pressure, and faith over fear ✝️

Being part of Eliora, a space that encourages reflection, growth, and intentional living, reminded me that this journey is not just practical—it is purposeful and God-led 🌱

This journey reaffirmed a promise I made to myself—and to God:
✨ To be present
✨ To grow with humility and purpose
✨ To redefine success—not just by income, but by time, freedom, impact, and obedience to His calling ⏳🤍

This is why I continue to choose this path.
This is why I’m grateful to be a VA 💻✨
And this is why I’m committed to showing up—not just at work, but at home, every day, for the family God has entrusted to us 🤍🙏

Hi! I’m Kaye — your Ilokana VA MoM 💛
(Yes MoM talaga… May Oras Magpuyat char🤣)

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re one of these people:
👉 gusto mag-VA pero zero idea kung anong niche
👉 nagta-transition from WFH or 9–5
👉 or yung feeling na “Lord, anong trabaho ba para sakin?” 😭

Same. Sobra.

Before ako naging VA, I was an ex-call center agent. Alam mo yung buhay na…
📞 “Thank you for calling—”
👂 tapos may sumisigaw na customer
😭 tapos ikaw: “I understand your frustration.”

Girl, I understood… pero gusto ko na rin mag-resign that time. 🤣

Pero deep inside, alam ko talaga na I wanted a better life.
Yung may time sa family, may time sa sarili, at syempre… may time mag-coffee kahit 3PM na 😂

Then I found the VA world — and eventually I became an STR Operations VA (Short-Term Rental / Airbnb).
So yes… from “Hello thank you for calling!” to “Hi guest, welcome to the property!” 😅

And ngayon, I’m here as a content creator because gusto ko makatulong sa mga kagaya natin — yung gustong magsimula pero di alam saan magfo-focus.

💛 Let’s be honest:
Finding your niche can feel overwhelming.

So here’s the real talk:

✅ Your niche is not something you “guess” agad.
It’s something you discover habang nag-eexplore ka.
And yes — pwede kang magsimula kahit hindi mo pa “final” ang niche mo.

Ang goal is simple:
Start somewhere, learn along the way, then refine.

Kaya if you’re stuck right now, here are a few tips to help you choose your niche without overthinking:

✨ QUICK TIPS (para hindi ka ma-stuck)

✅ 1. Start with your strengths
Ano yung natural sayo? Communication? Organizing? Writing? Research?

✅ 2. Choose a niche na kayang i-practice kahit wala pang client
Yung pwede mong gawin sa sarili mong laptop today.

✅ 3. Pick ONE niche to start for 30 days
Wag ka muna mag-collect ng 10 niches. Hindi ka Pokémon trainer. 😂

✅ 4. Your first niche doesn’t have to be forever
Niche is not a life sentence. It's a starting point.

✅ 5. Choose what you enjoy kahit konti
Kasi kung hate mo, susuko ka agad. Promise.

And since I know you’re thinking…
“Okay Kaye, anong niche ba yung bagay sakin??”

👉 I got you.
📌 Sa comment section, ilalagay ko yung list ng niches na pwede mong pagpilian depending on your personality + skills.
So scroll ka lang sa comments and check which one speaks to you 💛

Remember:
nakatransition to STR Operations VA…

✨ YOU CAN TOO.

I’m Kaye — your Ilokana VA MoM, and I’ll always be cheering for you. 💻💛

Totoo talaga… clients come and go.
And kahit matagal ka na sa freelancing or VA world, masakit pa rin.
Kasi sometimes, you gave your best, you showed up every day, you improved their business… pero still, they let you go.

I’ve been there too.

My very first client let go of me—not because of my work ethics, but because I asked for a raise.
And mind you, nasa contract pa namin na after 90 days may evaluation to assess performance and a salary increase. Alam ko sa sarili ko, I did well. I showed loyalty, I worked hard, and I contributed to the growth of the business.

Eventually, she gave me a raise… pero $0.25 lang.

And I was like,
“Yun lang ba worth ko?”
“Ganun lang kababa value ng effort ko?”

Doon ko narealize… minsan hindi ka kulang.
Sometimes hindi lang talaga marunong mag-alaga ng employees or contractors ang isang client (hindi naman lahat)
Some people will benefit from your skills, but won’t value you the way you deserve.

So I decided to leave.

Hindi dahil nagmamalaki ako, but because I know my worth.
Kaya I really took my time, pinagdasal ko talaga, and I asked Lord for guidance na sana tama yung decision ko. 🙏🏼

And honestly? That was the hardest decision at that time.
Kaya inaral ko mabuti yung niche na napasukan ko, which is the Short Term Rentals industry. I made sure na hindi lang ako “marunong,” kundi alam ko talaga ginagawa ko and eventually, I mastered it.

Because I wanted that to be my edge over other applicants.

So I updated my resume agad, inayos ko portfolio ko, and I positioned myself better—not just as a VA, but as someone na may expertise talaga in STR.
I started applying with confidence, kasi alam ko I have something valuable to offer. 💪🏼✨

And guess what?

That decision changed everything.
I found a better client—mabait, fair, and may malasakit sa mga employees niya. I finally felt respected and valued.

But here’s the truth…

This is the sad reality in freelancing:
No matter how good you are, clients can leave anytime.
May times talaga na kahit loyal ka, kahit ginalingan mo, they can still replace you.
That’s why we can’t rely on one client forever, and we also can’t stay stuck in one skill level.

Kaya for me, this journey taught me one thing:
✅ Upskill. Continue learning. Improve your craft.
Because the more value you can offer, the more opportunities you attract.
The more skills you build, the more confident you become—kahit mawala ang isang client, may ibang oportunidad na magbubukas.

Doon ko rin naisip…
Sometimes God removes people from your life not to hurt you, but to redirect you.

So if you’re going through a season of losing clients or being replaced, remember this:

✅ Your worth doesn’t decrease just because someone failed to recognize it.
✅ What’s meant for you will never pass you by.
✅ And sometimes, the ending is actually a blessing in disguise.

Keep showing up. Keep improving. Keep trusting.
Because God always makes a way—bigger opportunities, better clients, and more aligned blessings. 🤍✨🙏🏼💫
