SWORDMASTER REBORN AS BLACKSMITH (TEXT VERSION)
EPISODE 01- The Swordmaster final wish
Far to the east, in the Kingdom of Ednis on the continent of Maya, there lived a man whose name once echoed across battlefields—Zirox, the Swordmaster General. A warrior among warriors. A man who had commanded armies and stood as one of the kingdom’s highest-ranking knights.
But glory is fleeting, and time spares no one.
At ninety-nine years old, Zirox lay on his bed, body weak, breath shallow. The once unshakable blade in his hand had long since been replaced by the trembling of age.
All I wanted in life was peace… he thought, staring at the dim light filtering through the window. A life without bloodshed. Without violence. Maybe… in my next life…
His vision blurred. The room grew quiet. Then—
A voice echoed in his mind. Deep, calm, and impossibly vast.
> “Zirox. I am Nucleus, God of Time. Because of the good you have done in this world, I grant you another chance at life. Speak your one wish.”
Zirox’s lips curved into the faintest smile.
“I wish… to keep my memories.”
> “Your wish is granted,” the god replied. “You will be reborn as a child in the present time. Your parents will be from a modest noble family. Live the peaceful life you once desired. Good luck.”
The world faded into light.
---When Zirox opened his eyes again, he was no longer an old man. His hands were small, his body young. He had been reborn as Martin Taylor, son of a low-ranking noble family of blacksmiths—makers of weapons for the Kingdom of Ednis.
Fifteen years passed in a blink. Martin grew up helping his parents, Nick and Ida, at their forge. The heat of the flames and the ringing of hammer against steel became the rhythm of his days.
Yet even in this quiet life, the instincts of a swordmaster never left him. In secret, he trained during his free time—polishing his footwork, refining his strikes, and keeping his body sharp.
-One morning, his parents called him into the workshop.
“Martin,” his father said, “you’re fifteen now. It’s time for you to study at the Royal Academy.”
Martin frowned. “I don’t want to leave. I’m your only child. Who will help you with the forge?”
His mother smiled warmly. “We’ll manage. The academy will give you more than books—it will give you a future.”
A month later, Martin left his hometown.
---
The Royal Academy of Ednis stood like a fortress of marble and glass. As Martin approached the gates, he noticed a commotion.
A boy was being shoved around by a group of students. They wore uniforms different from the others—dark, elegant, and marked with the crest of high nobles, those with royal blood.
In Ednis, nobility was divided into two classes:
High nobles, wielders of influence and privilege.
Low nobles, like Martin, who were craftsmen, builders, and workers.
Martin walked past without a word. Peace was his goal, and he wouldn’t jeopardize it over a stranger.
---
When classes began, he introduced himself as the new transfer student. His heart sank when he realized the bullies from earlier were in his class.
He kept his distance, sitting quietly at the back of the room. One month passed without incident.
---
Then came faction recruitment day.
The academy had three main factions:
1. Knight Faction – Soldiers who fought with swords, guns, and other weapons.
2. Maker Faction – Blacksmiths, alchemists, carpenters, and builders.
3. Support Faction – Strategists, medics, and herb specialists.
Every student had to join one.
Martin, naturally, chose the Maker Faction. He wasn’t surprised when the bullies joined the Knight Faction. He simply smirked to himself.
---
During his first Maker Faction meeting, Martin met Cort—the boy he had seen being bullied. Cort was easy to talk to, intelligent, and skilled in alchemy.
When Martin asked why he was targeted, Cort shrugged bitterly.
“They hate the smell of chemicals. I’m always in the lab, so they say I stink. And… if I fight back, they could punish my family. So I endure it.”
Martin stayed silent for a moment. All this… just over pride and status.
The meeting ended, and the two went their separate ways—unaware that fate was already setting their paths on a collision course.
To be continued…
