🇵🇭 𝗗𝗥𝗢 𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗭 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗘𝗦 𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗚𝗢𝗔𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗦𝗚!

Pedro “Dro” Fernández has delivered another huge career moment.

The 18-year-old attacking talent, who has Filipino roots through his mother, scored his first senior goal for Paris Saint-Germain in their 4-0 away win over OGC Nice in Ligue 1. He came on in the 76th minute and found the net in the 81st, finishing a move set up by Ousmane Dembélé.

What makes it even bigger?

Just weeks after completing his €8 million move from Barcelona to PSG on a deal until 2030, Dro is already making his mark in Paris. From La Masia to the Parc des Princes, the Spanish-Filipino wonderkid keeps rising.

And for Philippine football fans, this is why the hype keeps growing.

Dro’s Filipino heritage has already put him on the radar back home, and the Philippine Football Federation previously extended an invitation for him to join the Philippine Men’s National Team.

One country.
One talent.
One massive future.

The Dro Fernández story is only getting started. 🇵🇭⚽🔥

Composed. Ruthless. History-making. The Filipinas delivered on the biggest stage, beating Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 2–0 to punch their ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup. In the AFC Women’s Asian Cup play-off, the winner secured a World Cup berth, and the Philippines got the job done.

The Filipinas roared into life in the second half as Angela Beard struck in the 47th minute before Jaclyn Sawicki doubled the lead in the 52nd, sending Philippine fans into celebration and putting the Filipinas on their way back to the biggest stage in women’s football.

✅ The result sends the Filipinas to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, with the AFC play-off winner earning direct qualification to Brazil 2027.

This was not just a win. This was a statement. Calm under pressure, clinical in front of goal, and fearless when everything was on the line, the Filipinas rose again and proved they belong among the world’s best.

Back to the World Cup. Back to history. Back where they belong.

This is massive for the Filipinas. They face Uzbekistan in an AFC Women’s Asian Cup play-off with a direct ticket to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil on the line.

✅ Win → qualify directly for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup
❌ Lose → one last chance through the Inter-Confederation Play-Offs

The Filipinas were crushed 7-0 by Japan in the quarterfinals, but the World Cup dream is still alive. Uzbekistan were also hit hard, losing 6-0 to Korea Republic, so both teams head into Thursday desperate for one huge response with everything at stake.

There is extra spice in this one too: the last meeting between the Filipinas and Uzbekistan ended 2-2 in Manila last October, after the Philippines raced to a 2-0 lead before Uzbekistan fought back. That sets up a rematch with real tension and real history behind it.

This is it. The final AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers - Group A match against 🇹🇯 Tajikistan.

For the Philippines, it is simple:
✅ Win -> qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 in Saudi Arabia
❌ Draw or loss -> eliminated

Only the group winner advances, and this last match will decide the sole ticket from Group A.

The last meeting was a real thriller. The Philippine Men’s National Football Team fought back twice in a tense 2-2 draw against Tajikistan, with Bjorn Kristensen scoring in the 79th minute to keep the Asian Cup dream alive. That comeback showed fight. Now they need one more huge performance on Tajik soil.

Another major lift for the Philippines is the addition of debuting Fil-German standout Raphael Obermair of SC Paderborn, who brings fresh attacking fire, creativity, and dangerous service, while the return of veteran Daisuke Sato adds experience, composure, and leadership for the biggest match of the campaign.

🇵🇭 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗦𝗜𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗨𝗣 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗥-𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗦!

The Philippines Women’s National Team have done it again.

Despite a tough group, the Filipinas rise into the Top 8 of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026, advancing to the Quarter-Finals as one of the best third-placed teams in Asia.

Even more impressive?
They are now the ONLY Southeast Asian nation still standing in the tournament.

Earlier today, Japan defeated Vietnam 4–0, ending Vietnam’s campaign and confirming the Philippines’ place in the knockout stage.

But this qualification means much more than just reaching the Quarter-Finals.

By finishing in the Top 8 of Asia, the Filipinas have also:
✅ Secured a place in the 2028 Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament
✅ Taken another huge step toward the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 pathway
✅ Proven that Philippine women’s football is now a serious force in Asia

⚔️ Next challenge:
🇵🇭 Philippines vs 🇯🇵 Japan
📅 March 15 – AFC Women’s Asian Cup Quarter-Final

A massive test awaits, but this team has already shown the heart, discipline, and belief to compete with the best in Asia.

One country.
One team.
One dream.

The Filipinas keep making history. 🇵🇭

Composed. Relentless. Still fighting. The Philippine women’s national football team kept their AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 campaign alive after 2 losses with a crucial 2-0 victory over Iran 🇮🇷 at the Gold Coast Stadium, giving themselves a real shot at reaching the quarterfinals.

Sara Eggesvik opened the scoring in the 29th minute, smashing home a right-footed finish that was first ruled out, then awarded after VAR review. Chandler McDaniel sealed the win in the 82nd minute, calmly converting after a well-worked setup from Ariana Markey to put the result beyond doubt.

𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘: 🇵🇭 Philippines 2-0 Iran 🇮🇷
Goals: Eggesvik 29’, McDaniel 82’

✅ The win guarantees the Filipinas a third-place finish in Group A and keeps them firmly in the hunt for a quarterfinal berth as one of the two best third-placed teams.

After back-to-back defeats against Australia and South Korea, the Filipinas responded with grit and purpose, controlling the match with 23 total shots and 14 on target while limiting Iran to just six attempts and only one shot on goal.

Iran goalkeeper Raha Yazdani kept the match alive with a series of huge saves, but the Filipinas kept pushing until they finally got the second goal their performance deserved.

Coach Mark Torcaso never lost belief, and neither did this team. Now, the whole country waits for the result of Bangladesh 🇧🇩 vs Uzbekistan 🇺🇿 to see if the Filipinas have done enough to book their place in the last eight.

Still breathing. Still battling. Still believing. 🇵🇭⚽

🇵🇭 𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝟴𝗩𝟴 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗣𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗔?

Simple reason: kids learn more when they touch the ball more.

In an 11v11 game, young players spend most of the time chasing the ball on a huge field. Many players barely touch it.

In 8v8, the game becomes faster, smaller, and more involved.
Every player gets more touches, more decisions, and more chances to learn.

This is why top football nations like Spain, Germany, Belgium, and Japan use small-sided games for young players. Even FIFA’s development program supports 8v8 for U13 and below.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝟴𝗩𝟴 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗞𝗜𝗗𝗦:
⚽ More touches on the ball
⚽ More attacking and defending actions
⚽ Faster decision-making
⚽ Better confidence and creativity

That’s why the 2026 Palarong Pambansa Elementary Boys division will shift to 8v8 to focus on development, not just winning.
