"Yung tumakbo ka na lakas lang ng loob ang dala."
I registered for this run knowing I had enough time to train, my very first 21km and the longest run of my life. 😅
A month later, I decided to prioritize walking 10,000 steps a day instead of running, since I was aiming for faster weight-loss results. Besides, doing both weightlifting at the gym and running on the same day was too much, both require a lot of energy.
On the race day, I was hyped and confident that I could still finish. It was a 4-hours event, and based on my Garmin prediction, I should be able to finish 21km in about 3 hours and 45 minutes, so I have enough time.
I started the race strong. But in just 3km, I almost got cramps. I had to slow down and ended up walking a lot throughout the entire race.
During the last 3 kilometers, I pushed myself to run. I kept telling myself:
"Last push, go! Last push, go!"
When I finally crossed the finish line and received my medal, I immediately sat down on the floor, I couldn't even stand or walk anymore. I had to rest there for 30 minutes before I could finally get up and claim my rewards.
It was really hard, especially without proper training. But I survived!
Thank You, God, for lending me the strength to finish the race, and for guiding me home safely with my very first 21km medal. 🙏
