MGA PUNO NG MANITO
Call for entries.
In celebration of the 2025 National Arts Month, and in pursuit of
preserving and promoting the environment of Manito, we are inviting you to participate in an online portfolio of photographs and artworks.
Your submissions will be posted as part of an online exhibit.
Mechanics:
1. There are two categories you can join: photography or drawing/painting. Only one entry per person.
2. The subject should be an existing and identifiable single tree or group of trees in Manito. Digital manipulation of the entry is allowed.
3. Identify the type or name of the tree/trees.
4. Write the location of the tree/trees by giving the address (purok, street name if applicable, and barangay) AND/ OR a geotag (GPS location) of the subject tree/ trees.
5. The photograph or drawing/painting should have an accompanying text such as a caption, a very short essay, or even a poem, about your thoughts, experiences, or opinions about your chosen subject. You are free to be creative as you wish.
Accompanying text can be in English, Filipino, or Bicol.
6. Entries should be sent via the link below in jpeg format (so, drawing/painting entries should be photographed under good lighting conditions)
7. The best entry for each category shall be awarded P1,000, while the 1st and 2nd runners up shall be awarded P800 and P500 respectively. These 6 top entries will also be given A4 sized photographic prints.
Criteria for judging entries for awards:
a.) Originality and Creativity - 10%
b.) Mastery of artistic and technical elements (ex. composition, space, color, exposure, lighting, etc.) - 40%
c.) Narrative impact/Storytelling (what you are trying to say
about your subject and how you convey it). - 40%
d) Overall visual and emotional impact - 10 %
Deadline for submission of entries is on
February 26, 2025 at 12:00 noon.
