"Leadership is not me. Leadership is us.” — Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III, President of Bicol University and former PACSA Board Member
Baguio City became a hub of collaboration and leadership from November 26–29, 2025, as the Philippine Association of Campus Student Advisers, Inc. hosted its 44th Annual National Convention of Campus Advisers, the 28th Annual National Convention for Student Leaders, and the 5th International Conference. With 800 participants from 140 schools nationwide, PACSA 2025 brought its theme “K.U.L.A.Y. PACSA” to life, promoting transformative leadership, tech-driven mindsets, collaborative action, progressive voices, and the bayanihan spirit.
The convention featured plenary discussions by esteemed education leaders, including Dr. Baby Boy Benjamin D. Nebres III, Dr. John Michael Peligriño Castino, Andrea Strachan, Dr. Desiderio R. Apag III, and Maria Lourie Victor, whose insights emphasized integrity, inclusivity, innovation, structure, and meaningful partnerships as pillars of community-centered leadership.
Furthermore, St. Alexius College student leaders showcased remarkable achievements. Sherwinne Uson, Secretary of the Supreme Student Government; Sheila May Maputol, Auditor of the Supreme Student Government; and Yeon Marielle Calague, Editor-in-Chief of The Communiqué, were hailed as champions in the Amazing Race team-building competition alongside other delegates. Joulian Angel S. Badiang, President of the Supreme Student Government, together with Sherwinne Uson, also participated in the essay and sanaysay screening for the Mindanao Core Group, while Zairralyn Tombate Grate, President of the Philippine Nursing Student Association, earned recognition for her outstanding cultural attire, reflecting the school’s heritage. Other activities included the pageant, extemporaneous speaking, poster-making competitions, and the COAP 2025 completion rites, which honored student advisers for their dedication to student development and leadership formation.
To conclude the event, PACSA President Dr. Wilter Friales reminded participants that true leadership is collective, emphasizing the importance of carrying the lessons, skills, and spirit of collaboration beyond the convention. By empowering leaders to rise together, PACSA fosters communities that grow stronger as a whole—living proof of Dr. Nebres’s words that “leadership is not me, leadership is us.” The convention ended with a renewed commitment to lead with compassion, serve with purpose, and extend the spirit of bayanihan to campuses and communities across the nation.
Indeed, PACSA 2025 highlights that when leaders rise together, communities rise with them. Once a PACSAN, always a PACSAN—today, tomorrow, and wherever leadership takes root.
