I am nobody in this industry, walang pangalan, walang ambag, walang accolades, I simply love to read Filipino books and sharing with the internet my reading journey pero ramdam ko 'yung pagyakap ng community sakin.
My dream is for the Philippines to be a reading country. As much as I enjoy attending PBF yearly, and though there are efforts being executed, the fact still stands na kahit ilang araw ang PBF sa Mega Trade Hall, hindi pa din lahat ng Pinoy may access dito. If more people become readers of Filipino books, mas lalaki 'yung demand for them, and mas mamomobilize 'yung mga tao to cater it.
Having read many Filipino books, you cannot not glow with pride sa PBF because, what do you mean 'yung mga taong inaadmire and nirerespeto ko ay abot kamay ko lang, nakakasalubong, nakakausap, nakakatawanan, at nayayakap pa minsan. I wish I had this experience when I was still at school kasi PBF really is an experience. Parang after 3 years of attending, I now see it as some sort of a holiday.
Malaki ang Filipino reading community pero we still need more readers. Kaya naman, I'll keep doing my small part of showing up for this cause until this small dream of mine is realized.
Congrats po sa lahat ng manunulat, publisher, artist at lahat ng mga taong bumubuo at nakibahagi sa PBF! Tunay ngang merong aklat para sa lahat! Happy Monday!
