Good Friday Reflection for Woodworkers | The Cross and Our Craft
As woodworkers, we hold a deep appreciation for the beauty, strength, and purpose found in every piece of wood we shape. Today, on Good Friday, we are reminded of the most significant piece of wood in history—the wooden cross on which our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified.
That simple, rugged structure was not a symbol of craftsmanship or art, but of sacrifice. It bore the weight not only of Christ’s body, but of all our sins. As we commemorate this day, may we pause and reflect on what the cross truly means.
For us who work with our hands, it’s humbling to remember that the Savior chose to suffer and die on something built from the same material we use daily. He turned a tool of ex*****on into a symbol of grace, hope, and salvation.
Let this day be more than just a moment of solemn remembrance. Let it deepen our gratitude, shape our character, and guide our hands to build lives—not just projects—rooted in love, humility, and purpose.
May the meaning of the Cross remind us why we create: not just for function or beauty, but for service and significance.
Blessed Good Friday, mga kapwa ko woodworkers.
