🌹 In Memoriam: Bayani Flores Fernando (1946-2023) 🌹
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bayani Flores Fernando, a distinguished Filipino politician, businessman, and professional mechanical engineer.
📜 Biography:
Bayani Flores Fernando, born on July 25, 1946, and a proud alumnus of the Mapúa Institute of Technology, dedicated his life to public service and community development. He served as Marikina's Mayor from 1992 to 2001, leaving an indelible mark on the city's transformation into a model Philippine city.
Bayani Fernando also took on the role of Chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) from 2002 to 2009, where his visionary initiatives, including U-Turn slots and pedestrian overpasses, reshaped the landscape of Metro Manila.
🏗️ BF Corporation:
After his public service, Bayani founded BF Corporation, which played a vital role in constructing iconic structures like Rufino Pacific Tower, SM City Marikina, Shangri-La Plaza, and many others.
His company's commitment to public welfare extended to projects in partnership with the Department of Education, contributing to the development of school facilities.
