𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱.💔🥺😢
Today, I went to McDonald's JP Rizal Marikina branch to complete my Happy Meal Little McDonalds. I presented my PWD ID. Cashier went to the manager and told me that they don't accept PWD discount for Happy Meals. I said that I have been availing PWD discounts on Happy Meals and that I only lack 3 toys to complete the set.
Manager - PWD na bata lang po ang may discount. Sa matanda po wala. I pointed out that mine is PWD ID. It doesn't matter kung bata ka or matanda. Still PWD yan. Hindi po, dahil hindi kayo bata. Sa bata lang po kami magbibigay ng discount. Sa matanda hindi.
I insisted that how come all other branches of McDo accepted and honored my PWD ID for Happy Meals. Sagot nya, sa bata lang po at baka daw Franchise. I said it doesn't matter dahil McDo pa rin yan. Sadly, para syang walang naririnig. Manager continued to refuse my PWD ID with conviction. Humaba na ang pila. I even told him na tatlo na lang po ang kulang ko lahat ng purchases ko ay may discount. His response... Hindi po. Para sa bata lang. Lahat ng McDo hindi nagbibigay ng discount ng PWD sa matanda. Policy po namin yan.
Nakatingin na mga customers. Pati security guard lumapit na sa akin. As if may ginagawa akong hindi tama or nanggugulo ako. The manager barely looked at me. I feel so insulted dahil hindi nya ako iniintindi. Puro sya sa bata lang ang happy meal. I even said na the food in the happy meal is also your food in the menu at kinakain ng bata man o matanda. So hindi nyo dapat idisregard yun.
I left a while. Nagpunta ako sa car and went back to show him the receipt that I have na may PWD discount ng ibang McDo branch. Same scenario hindi nya pinansin receipt ko. I even told him hindi nyo ba titingnan ang resibo. Dahil hindi nya pinapansin. I am telling you na totoo po sinasabi ko. Bakit po ayaw nyo tingnan resibo? That's when he looked at the receipt habang hawak ko. But never checked and continued to ignore it. Andun ulit ang security guard.
Ayoko na makipagtalo so I left the store very disappointed as to how the manager attended to my concern. Not a typical customer service establishment that you would want to receive from any restaurant.
From JP Rizal branch, went straight to McDonald's BlueRidge branch. And there, they acknowledged my PWD ID for my Happy Meal without question.
Tanong po. Bakit ka naiiba McDonald's JP Rizal branch? Bakit po ang ibang branches nagbibigay ng PWD discounts sa Happy Meals?
Why did you discriminate me and insulted me by repeatedly saying na sa PWD na bata lang ang Happy meal na discount at hindi sa matanda infront of your staff. Security guard and customers? Why?
I am a mom. A Person With Disability. A Cancer survivor. I did not wish to become a PWD. Yes I am not young anymore. My kids are grown ups already. But the kid in me remains. I have been collecting McDonald's Happy Meal since 1990s. I started with 101 Dalmatians, 102 Dalmatians and so on... I have thousands of Happy Meal Toys and other collectible toys that you can think of that kids would love.
Mr. Manager, I got your first name only because you refused to give your full name dahil sabi mo bawal sa inyo ibigay buong name mo. Whatever.
Please show some respect. Stop saying na sa bata lang ang PWD Discount. Since when nagkaroon ng ganyang klaseng policy na sa MATANDA ay hindi na pwde. You cannot even tell the age ng bata at matanda na sinasabi mo. Stop saying na pag matanda hindi pwede.
It's not about the discount anymore. It's how the manager handled the situation. He was rude and disrespectful to me from the very start.
