BUWAN NG WIKA 2025: Wikang Kinagisnan tungo sa pagkakakilanlan

Sa araw ng Biyernes, Agosto 29, 2025, naganap sa entablado ng St. Michael School of Marilao, Inc. (SMSM) ang makabuluhan, makulay at pinakahinihintay ng mga mag-aaral mula sa Mataas at Lalong Mataas na Paaralan — ang patimpalak ng Lakan at Lakambini ng Wika at Panitikan sa kasalukuyang taunang panuruan. Natunghayan ng bawat isa ang mga maririkit at nagkikisigang kalahok suot ang kanilang naggagandahang kasuotan na nagpapakita ng kultura, kalikasan at piyesta ng kanilang napiling lalawigan. Binida rin nila ang kanilang angking talino sa pagsagot sa mga katanungan ukol sa ating wika.

Mahigpit ang naging labanan sapagkat lahat ng kalahok ay ipinamalas ang kanilang talino at talento. Bukod pa rito, ang kanilang kasuotan ay katangi tangi dahil sa iba't ibang elemento na tunay na nagpakinang sa kanilang pagrampa.

Departamento ng HS ng SMSM, nagpamalas ng galing sa pagtatanghal ng Katutubong Sayaw, SayAwitan

Matagumpay na isinagawa sa entablado St. Michael School of Marilao, Inc. (SMSM) ang Katutubong Sayaw para sa Mataas na Paaralan at SayAwitan para sa Lalong Mataas na Paaralan bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika noong Agosto 28, 2025 sa SMSM Quadrangle.

Isa ito sa mga pinakainabangan at kinasabikan sa selebrasyon ng naturang pagdiriwang sapagkat naipakita nila ang kanilang angking galing sa pagsayaw, pag-awit, at paggawa ng mga sariling palamuti para sa pagtatanghal upang maiuwi ang tropeo sa kanilang pangkat.

Mahigpit ang naging labanan sapagkat ang lahat ng pangkat ay karapat-dapat dahil sa pagsisikap at husay na kanilang ipinakita. Nagpakitang-gilas ang mga mag-aaral sa kani-kanilang natatanging talento sa musika at sayaw na lalong nagbigay kulay at sigla sa selebrasyon. Sa pamamagitan ng masining na pagtatanghal, ipinakita ng mga kalahok ang kahalagahan ng wika at kulturang Pilipino na siyang layunin ng nasabing pagdiriwang.

Sa pagtatapos ng pagpe-presenta ng kanilang pagganap, inanunsyo ang mga nagwagi para sa mga paligsahang pang-kultural kasabay ng mga nagwagi sa patimpalak ng Katutubong Sayaw at SayAwitan:

Unang Gantimpala: Baitang 10 - Wisdom
Ikalawang Gantimpala: Baitang 7 - Love

Mga Nagwagi sa Sayawitan (SHS):

Ang Sayawitan at Katutubong Sayaw ay nagbigay ng makukulay na pagtatanghal na tunay na nagpamalas hindi lamang ng galing at malikhaing kakayahan ng mga Michaelinian kundi ang kanilang kaalaman at pagsisikap na buhayin ang kultura at wika. Umalingawngaw ang hiyawan at palakpakan sa pagtatapos ng programa, tanda ng masiglang diwa ng pagkakaisa at pagmamahal sa sariling kultura. Bukod sa kooperasyon at dedikasyon, ang tunay na panalo ay ang paggunita at pag-alala sa wikang kinagisnan.

Hindi rito nagtatapos ang selebrasyon dahil sinundan pa ito ng pinakaaabangang Lakan at Lakambini ng Wika at Panitikan 2025 sa sumunod na araw, Agosto 29, 2025.

The Swords honors the birth anniversary of a national conqueror who, with his literary genius during the brutal Spanish conquest, made a significant contribution to our fight for independence.

Diariong Tagalog was founded by journalist, lawyer, and freemason Marcelo H. Del Pilar. Its primary objective was to raise awareness of liberal democracy among low-income farmers and other marginalized groups. In addition, he denounced the actions of friars and urged Filipinos to respond in solidarity.

Furthermore, today also marks as the National Press Freedom Day.

The Sword honors the courage and commitment of the journalists who continue to be our eyeopener and louder voice to expose and speak nothing but truth. As the real eyes and voice of the people, the free press upholds vital roles and principles in underscoring people's freedom of expression and right to information. Let us not put those brave journalists' sacrifices and public service into a forgotten chest of our history. Let us continue to support and protect the voices that bless our cognizance with truth and justice.

SMSM school-based orgs officers take oath for another year of leadership, excellence

On the 1st of August 2025, the St. Michael School of Marilao (SMSM) held its new beginnings, new chapters, and a commitment. The shining members of each clubs came up on the stage, full of sincerity and gratitude as they received their oaths. Starting from the officers of each organizations from the Junior High School Department whose braveness to face different challenges throughout their responsibility was made evident. As everyone finished taking their oath, the Student Council of the Junior High School Department also shone through their prepared performance which have truly captured the audience’s hearts.

Soon after, the Senior High School Department’s oath taking ceremony immediately took part. Every student who was called to represent their organization stood with pride and the will to lead. Every Michaelinian officers emphasized their integrity during the oath-taking ceremony as they raised their right hands while stating the oath, which stood as a promise that every hardship that is to come will be dealt with through their power of leadership and cooperation.

Indeed, every Michaelinian has a potential to be a leader or a mentor to be the resounding voice of the whole community. Through their visions made into actions, their respective organizations shall have significant and fruitful contributions to the entirety of the Michaelinian community for this academic year.

School-based orgs established for AY 2025-2026

On July 31st, St. Michael School of Marilao (SMSM) witnessed a vibrant display of student leadership as we conducted elections for a new set of club officers.

The day was filled with excitement and anticipation as students casted their votes in their designated rooms, shaping the future directions of the various clubs. This student-led process underscored SMSM's commitment to fostering student involvement and empowering young leaders.

At the end of the day, all the newly elected officers were then named. They are expected to be at the forefront of the their organizations as this school year rolls ahead.

After the Pause, A Cause: Nutrition Month makes triumphant comeback

The Nutrition Month is back again!

On the 2nd of August, the St. Michael School of Marilao, Inc. (SMSM) celebrated Nutrition Month held at the quadrangle, with the theme, "Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!", where chosen individuals represented their section to be the new champs for Mr. and Ms. Nutrition.

Indeed, sport meets style. Each of them showcased amazing attire, advocacy, and educational answers on the Question and Answer portion. As the candidates made their entries, supporters from different sections exploded into cheers and applause after seeing their representatives slay their way on the stage.

Finally, after a long wait, the winners were announced.

The other contests, specifically Poster Making, Slogan Making (Filipino and English), and Essay Writing Contests that were also held on the month of July were all victoriously recognized. With this, the Nutrition Month finally comes to a close but indeed, living with a healthy lifestyle never stops.
