AKI Bookstore

It all started along the street of Morayta and Recto, where one student striving to survive to pay rent, fair & food. Libni Ark Supilanas Calayca was enrolled at FEU-East Asia College as Information Technology student with an arrangement with his older sister just to pay tuition only. He figured out how to survive in this area by selling finished products and other stuffs. With the help of his room mates on the investment they manage to collect and get profit. His artistic knowledge in making Designs such as Button Pins with Half Bot Tamaraw Logo was one of the best seller that was approved by their Marketing Approach Course.

Accidentally, his Professor in History was requiring them to purchase a History Book entitled “History of the Filipino People Eighth Edition © 1990 Teodoro A. Agoncillo” known as a Published book of C&E Publishing that was reprinted in 2012. It was not reprinted that time so all of the books are sold in the darkest edge corner of Recto Street. Most of his class mates are afraid to visit and he decided to collect all the payments notifying that there’s a mark-up price. Eventually, he sold more than 37 copies on the first day. The next day, more of his school mates are ordering and he sold more than 300+ copies. Several days passed, orders are decreasing and the only thing in his mind was “SURVIVAL”.

He came up with a solution to market these books online and here was sulit.com.ph. After three years in due course, he found out from his supplier that the book are now sold in C&E Publishing. He started to wonder and ask why? they said “because it’s PIE or PI”.

“PIE” or “PI” was a short term use for a Pirated Copy. Along with these he also discovered codes on seller-to-seller approach like “LUCKY STORE” and nobody on the Pirated Sellers are giving information even if you are “SUKI” they will always consider you as “CUSTOMERS” not “SELLERS”. Different titles he was promoting was also affected. He started to Lie Low for a year.
