You live, you learn.

I think the first few months of freelancing/WFH can really wrap us in this euphoric state.

You finally landed a client.
You’re earning online.
You’re getting praised.
You’re buying things with your own money.
You’re experiencing opportunities you once only wished for.

And sometimes, you get so high on that feeling that you forget to think before you post.

Almost 3 years into this industry, I’ve realized that not every win needs an audience, not every compliment needs a screenshot, and not every experience needs to become content.

Some things are simply better kept private. 🤍

Disclaimer: I’m not suggesting that every VA should do the same. These are simply personal lessons I picked up along the way. What works for me may not work for you.

Or maybe because I didn’t use a second screen? Charezzz. Excuses! Haha

But hands down talaga sa mga bookkeepers na nag-aasikaso ng payroll, especially those handling maraming employees!! Whether it’s QuickBooks or any other payroll software, kudos sa patience niyo making sure every single number ties up. 🙌

We’ll see after 2 weeks kung may improvement na yung speed ko sa next pay period. Mehehe. Baka naman by then, hindi na tayo aabutin ng forever. 😂

Okay, time to update the resume. Kaya na rin nating mag-handle ng payroll! 💅

But will I willingly choose payroll if may option naman not to? Absolutely NOT.

At least ngayon, pwede na nating idagdag sa skills. 😉

One of the biggest reasons I’ll always be grateful for remote work is the freedom it gives me—not freedom from work, but freedom to build life around it. 🌿💻

There are still deadlines to meet, messages to answer, meetings to attend, and days when I’m glued to my laptop for hours.

But then there are moments like this.

I can step away from the screen, go somewhere quiet, breathe fresh air, appreciate the view, and remind myself that there’s a whole life happening outside my workspace.

And sometimes, that little reset is all I need before going back to work again.

I used to think the best thing about working remotely was being able to work from anywhere. As time goes by, I realize it’s also about having more opportunities to actually live outside of work.

Work hard, meet the deadlines, deliver what needs to be delivered—but make time to touch some grass, too. 🌿😂

This kind of freedom will always be one of my favorite things about the life I chose. 🤍✨

Because I have a flexible time arrangement now for all my clients, I get to work and/or chill on weekends.

But I still work mostly at night for better schedule alignment and I’m not really as productive as I am at night when it’s daytime. 🫣

🔹 Read the agency’s website carefully. Check the qualifications, application process, compensation, benefits, and contract terms before submitting your application.

🔹 Do your own research. Browse their page, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Indeed, Reddit, and VA communities. Read both positive and negative experiences so you know what to expect.

🔹 Don’t limit yourself to one agency. If you qualify, apply to multiple agencies at the same time to improve your chances of getting matched with a client.

🔹 Every VA’s journey is different. An agency that works well for someone else may not necessarily be the best fit for you. Find the one that aligns with your goals, skills, and preferred work setup.
