Eager to be oriented with the advocacy campaign against all forms of abuse and bullying in schools, around 70 students of Masbate National Comprehensive High School attended the SDO Masbate City Learner Rights and Protection Office's (LRPO) second implementation of LRP on Wheels and Bullying Prevention Caravan at MNCHS Centennial Auditorium on October 22, 2025.
During the said activity, Atty. Mary Ann Montilla, Legal Officer III, discussed the modifications of DepEd Order 55 s. 2013 or Anti-Bullying Policy. She also mentioned that bullying can lead to depression, and depression can lead to su***de, so students must refrain from bullying.
On the other hand, PDO II/DRRM Coordinator, Sarah B. Aguilar empowered the attendees to report LRP and mental health cases to learners' helplines and other support services. Another topic she discussed was the Anti Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti Children Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) for safer internet practices for learners. Additionally, Aguilar also mentioned that some of the activity's participants will be invited to facilitate and even shared their learning in the next LRP Caravan this coming November.
Lastly, Rose Ann Oliva, PDO I, tackled mental health and the prevention of su***de.
When interviewed about her key takeaway, one of those participants, Demsy Francisco, G7-Josette Biyo (STE), said "I learned about the anti-bullying policy of 2013. I also learned about sextoration and sexting, how to prevent and how I will react in case I encounter any bullying incident."
Despite being in Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) that the school is implementing due to Typhoon Opong, the program ended successfully with the support and assistance of the Masbate City Division, LRPO, MNCHS, Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), and the participants.
